Question tuning the ralliart

okay guys, and gals...

was on the other section and i'm heading up to johnson city with the evo guys and i want to get my car tuned. this is what one of the evo guys said:

"Call Apexi at 714-685-5700. Ask them if the Super AFC2 will work on your car... If they say yes, then they will have the ECU pin out and wiring instuctions for your car. You will have to splice into the factory harness to hook it up, unless the plug n play harness for the Evo is the same for your car. If you can get the AFC2 and plug n play harness, then I can tune it for you on the dyno."

i called apex and the dude told me they never tuned a ralliart before. he said in order to get it done, i'd need the wiring schematics of my ecu, and make sure my mafs runs from 0-5 volts.

does anyone have experience with this? would it even make a difference if i got it tuned. i do want to run a dyno just to get a baseline of what i'm getting hp/tq wise before i do my mods.

thanks in advance!

im almost sure that our MAF is current-based. not volatage based. we only have a partial pinout, but something tells me RRM might know =) but to help u out:

If ur looking at the harness (its behind the glove box), then on the 3rd plug, the top row (nearest the tab), last pin to the right is the air flow sensor wire. its a red and white wire. for the ground, pick a black wire =) for a power, take soem voltage readings on the leads, but i think i used either a yellow or yellow/black.

Did some digging through my service manual, here's what I've learned: our MAF is voltage based, and does run from 0-5 volts. If it's putting out 3.5v or more constantly, it's malfunctioning, otherwise, it's okay.

This is all based on whether I'm reading these circuit diagrams correctly or not, but I think I am.

Search for "MAF" on the index page (after you wait 30 minutes for it to load ) It's the first section of the MAF troubleshooting area. The second and third section are something about the readings being higher or lower. At work right now, so I can't be more specific.

For you guys with the manual, search for "mass" instead of maf, just realized that searching for maf won't turn up anything.
