Dude, just for reference sake, I didn't change my plugs at all! You might want to try platinums with a larger gap to try and burn more fuel but that's about it. I don't know that I'd trust copper plugs not to close up on you when you're on the button. Your best bet is to dyno tune and find out how rich you're running and then change plugs. Have you picked up the fuel line yet?

edit: I just thought of something, I was running 93 octane and I can't remember if you have 91 or 93 in Texas. If you only have 91 I would definately go with "colder" as in shorter or colder burning plugs. Platinum plugs are around 2-3 bucks a pop and would be worth the peace of mind in my opinion.

No platinum! The stock plugs or something similar to stock in a colder setup should do just fine. If you only pushing 50shot I would assume stocks should be fine.

Platinum is not recomended in nitrous setups because the little platinum chip can become seperated and get slapped around in the combustion chamber.

The stock Iridium plugs do work just fine under a 50 shot.. I ran at least 15 nitrous runs on the stock plugs and they worked perfect. I am stepping up from dry to wet setup and going with an 80 shot, so I am going to change to a colder step of the stock NGK Iridiums. I have some coppers but I haven't tried them yet.

Yes we have 93 octane and I use it when racing. I'm thinking of using some mild race gas with the 80 shot, although I don't know if our O2 sensors will like that or not.. anyone have input on this?

The O2 sensor should be fine, it is the injectors and the catayltic converter that will not like the race gas. If you use racing gas without lead the injectors should be fine, although the increased heat from racing gas could cause the catalytic converter to break apart internally at a higher rate.

Really copper are the best to use with nitrous. The coppers will fail if it gets too lean and melt the electrode. The iridium plugs will just keep burning. Copper plugs give some insurance, possibly saving your motor. Just go a step colder with the plug.

100 octane shouldn't hurt it that much. You are only doing a !/4 mile.

ill give the coppers a try this friday at the track.. will let you all know how it goes. I dont know of any unleaded race gas, and if I can get it around here if it does exist. I can try premium with octane booster although I dont think they recommend that.

I didn't notice any pinging or knocking at all with the 75whp shot and 93 oct. I hadn't really thought of using copper as a "fuse" for the system. Nice. My bad about the platinum plugs, I guess that's what that nagging feeling was! Just out of curiousity Dallas, what are the #'s on the fuel and N2O jets? I know you're using NOS and not NX, I just wanted to compare them for craps and cackles.

Crap, I'd have to take the jets out to see what numbers.. I forgot its been so long since I put them in. Actually its one jet since I dont have fuel hooked up.. I want to say its 28. I ordered the fuel line from mitsu today.. 43.00. I need to buy another nozzle also cuz I accidentally broke the nitrous feed part of it off.. I got the n2o hooked up to the fuel side of the nozzle, lol, hope that doesnt affect the effectiveness of it. It does seem kinda wimpy when you hit the button compared to what it felt like in my escort gt. AMG how does the engagement feel on yours? Mine is very linear.

I was warned agaisnt NGK platium Plugs because of heat. Is there really a big enough difference to cause damage?

Withg the 50 shot, it hardly felt like anything in any gear other than 2nd! 3rd gear was very smooth and I couldn't feel any "kick" in 4th, it just accelerated like a scalded cat! The 75 shot was alot more pronounced but was still very smooth, 2nd gear takes about as long as 1st! You can still feel it in 3rd & 4th but not like you do in 2nd! I guess I'd have to agree that it feels very linear and except for a few dips do to bubbles in the line, the dyno sheet backs it up. That's with the 50 wet though since my dumb *** left the 75 jets at home... The 75 still feels the same, just more pronounced power.

Follow my profile or look under registry (at the top of this page 5th from the right button) and then dynos (2nd tab from right) #69 for the 4th gear pull, 70 for 3rd (which looks smoother) and #74 for just the CAI. I think all 3 runs are about 10hp down from where they should be since #75 was my baseline, stock as a rock w/3000miles w/ wheels at 12 o'clock on teh dyno rollers and #'s 69,70,74 was at a different site but same type of in ground dyno but they loaded the wheels at ~2 o'clock. The wheels where just barely off the ground, I would have had him move them to 12 but I was running behind schedule and had to race in a few hours. I barely got the dyno time as it was so I didn't want to complain too much! Coincedently I'm #69 on the time slips as well with my 75 shot. Nevermind the garbage under info, I had all 4 slips together but you couldn't read them, so I seperated the best time for the pic. I should have been almost a second quicker, I suck under controlled circumstances! The right lane was the same (unknown year/mods if any) Mustang Cobra I almost beat on my 2nd pass of the night. I think I spooked him into red lighting after almost beating him before! He didn't like being behind a 4 door except for the last few yards!
