I have an 04' Sportback Ralliart with the following mods, RRM SRI, HYper grounding kit, Magnaflow exhaust
What I want to know, is there anything else out there we can add to the engine short of a turbo that would help with HP. I was looking into the RRM piggyback - but read memebrs were not happy with results, and looked into downpipe - but don't want the CEL issue. any ideas?

The CEL issue is fixable... but, why were people unhappy with the Piggy? The only downside is needing higher grade gas...
You can get a full catback, CAI, nos, Lightened pully..... all add horsepower...
I'm taking it you have an auto matic so a lightened flywheel won't do anything... you could get custom made higher compression pistons...

one of the guys on our site installed the piggyback and dynoed it and was really dissappointed that it didn't do what is supposed to do, but I'm thinking downpipe and lighter pulleys but can't find any for our cars, found everything for evos not RA's and yeah mine is an auto as it is the only the transmission offered in the Sportback,

As i figured on the Auto deal...
Evo8Joe (i think) is trying to get a group buy on the Pulleys... i think it's $100 for pulley and new belt... thats not remotely bad at all...
I'm figuring theres a possiblity of up to 8 hp at the wheels...Possibility
The Downpipe is a commonality that everyone thinks is the downfall of our exhaust system... it's not a downfall ... more of a weaker link... But that will add some HP..
The Catback will add a few horsies but also push your powerband back a bit which i'm thinking wouldn't be that beneficial since the auto shifts itself ad XXXX amount of RPMS...
Possibly... Adding the RRM CF hood so your intake gets a Constant Cold air flow or upgrading your intake to a CAI..... with alberta it would probably be safe to Go with AEM and get the Bypass Valve...
Being that your an auto i don't think you'd gain full capabilities of the Piggyback but i think hell any HP upgrade that does what it says it does is worth it...
It's not all about the Dyno results... They help but the Piggy is more of a Preset A/F ratio... Downside higher octane gas.
depending on how serious you want to tune, you could get custom made High Compression Pistons and Rods. You can use the 4G63 Engine Rods, and send out a Piston to get custom made...
Better Tires is a Must...
Don't forget in the world of sport compacts, Power to Weight Ratio is the Key... Take out the back seats and get lighter wheels....
Like i said just depends on how much your wanting to tune..
and Nos is probably the easiest of horsepower and it should be easier to run since you are in fact using an auto.

Thanks Diamond, I think I'll add the downpipe to the list, along with the CF hood, I think that will help, I'll hold on the pulleys until I see some positive documented results, the piggyback looks great but I'm concerned with the install as well, i read a few posts that the install would have been more simple with a connect harness, but again thanks for the help, I want to keep this car as a family grocery getter but with alot more umph!! any more info is always appreciated.

A cf hood wont make a noticeable difference, just looks. Taking out back seats wont take enough weight away to notice anything either, itll just make your interior louder. Putting NOS on our stock internals is not the safest thing in the world to do. Basically if you want some noticeable power, the turbo is about the best you can do.

I was saying the CF hood so his RAM air could get some Colder air... as they have a slot to help the SRI/Turbo guys.
well I already have RRM SRI, I would go the CAI but if I get the CF hod I'd rather have the SRI as it would be truly CAI as the air goes right in cold rather than run along the engine bay, for now I'm trying a new technique, I modified the stock intake tube and cut it to direct air into the filter.
