Also just another question, take for example the honda boys using k24 block and a k20 head. would we be able to do the same? 4g69 block and a 4g63 head? using the 2.4L displacment and getting the legendary flowing capablity of a 4g63 head and 2 cams?

i retract from MY past opinios and state that yes you can put in a 4g63t head in on a 4g69 block and vice versa i saw this done on a mirage w/ "evo" engine (block read g69 on a g63 head

^ even if it can be physically done you will have a hell of a time trying to tune for the dohc. I don't think you will be able to get the ecu to work.

i know that is why this kind of mods NEED a stand alone ecu to work, the case in point had a TECIII, remember this was a mirage not a modern lancer

Of course it would be done with a full stand alone ECU, Im not keen on piggybacks period.

so sourcing parts are easily found from a 4g63? main/head studs and such? and the only custom items would be valve springs, and such?

Doing this major mod can really open up a whole new level of performance I mean your options would endless - but which head do you put on this engine my thoughts would be that you could really only put the Evo9 head - not sure could be wrong,

The other thing that you have to ask is do you go N/A and raise the compression to 10:5.1. or go boosted and swap over pistons lower compression etc or have a go at putting in the Evo Stroker kit ?

Either way you would ditch the Fly by wire setup put a return fuel line (all of which can be donated via a EVO!!)

As for the ecu - I wonder if you could ditch the factory ECU and adopt the evo 9 ecuu and then add a PB unit! I mean you are basiclly recreating a 4G63T engine but with a larger displacement.

So my rods cam in the mail. I'm going to post a picture now for you guys to see and compare our stock rods, and Eagle H-beam rods, for an EVO8 that fits our car perfectly. Some say we dont "need rods, and ours is already reinforced"

one look at this pictures tells a different story...

I'm going to post this up on a few other threads, just so it'll be helpful for others to search and find out info for our car.

And now we can see how Mitsubishi saved 100+grams on each rod as a weight saver..

Thanks for posting very interesting to see them side by side - but damn talk about the banana effect...

comments were too offtopic.

So as far as evo8/9 internals go... we won't be able to use evo pistons/mods?
but the head is fair game, as well as bolts/studs.. and springs?

Just curious what the advantage of using a 4g63 head, compared to a 4g69 head is.....
thanks again.

The advantage would be to be able to drop the compression and more available parts downside is that you lose CC
