CEL problems with RRM CAI
CEL problems with RRM CAI
I have read most of the post that I can find. I have called RRM and taken it to the Mitshu ppl but I still can't get rid of the CEL. Any help??? I have checked all the fittings. I have even put a small bead of silacon around the MAS to seal it up tight. I backed the air filter out some just to make sure I was getting the right flow. And I have reset the computer and let the car idel for about 10 mins. Any other suggestions??
Here we go again...
Make sure the filter isn't installed too far onto the end of the CAI pipe.
Make *SURE* the MAS is installed correctly. If you had to lay a bead of silicone on it to get it to seal, it's probably not right.
Make sure the CAI - rubber intake hose connection is tight.
Once all that checks out, then reset your ECU. If you still get a CEL, get the code pulled and come back here.

I also ran into CEL, but it shouldnt be a problem. Otter is right, check if your car is running fine, fine as in normal, and not just "enough" to get you somewhere safe(like home). If your car revs normal, drives normal then most likely nothing is wrong. My CEL went away after my work shift of 8 hrs, though its probably still in the computer.
btw this is unlikely, but check that your gas tank cap is on correctly
