A few last min questions before my June Engine Swap
I have TEIN Basics so that shouldnt be a problem! Being adjustable...
Anyway, good news, I now have a brand new 4G69 engine (cost £1300 = $2000) sitting in my mates garage! I'll post pics soon and do a guide once its all complete as to how easy it was etc... However I just think in the USA it would be easier to buy a Ralliart... Thats not an option for me, well, even thought my car is a Ralliart, it doesnt have the USDM engine - but in June it will!
What I'm going to do between now and June is add the RRM pulley to the engine.

Yes but then I could just buy a new car! and that would cost me over £6000 ($10000) and give me a lot less gains than the 4G69 initially. That 2.0 4G63 is slow guys, 0-60 in 9.8s is not fast! 0-60 in 7.6 is bloody fast for a sedan in my country! Anyway, engine is bought so thats whats going in!
The other reason I'm loving the 4G69 is I can get all the RRM parts, which I already am doing with the intake manifold and pulley.

Yeah, but thats where you'll end up spending £10,000.
We now know that we can swap in the 4G69 in a day or two; we have all the parts that differ and go with that engine. It's an engine meant to be put in the 2005 lancer, unlike the Evo engine.
Basically, if I wanted an Evo I'd buy an Evo. A guy whos got enough money to buy Two topline recaros, a cerious/accolade evo style rear, TEIN Basics, numerous other stuff and this engine and all the parts, could easily afford an Evo IX.
BUT FUEL!!!!! £1.10 per litre
and THIEVES!!! Check out lancerregister.com a UK evo gets stolen every day
and Insurance!!! I was quoted £13,000 for insurance on one. £4,000 was the most reasonable, compared to £960 on my car with a 2.4 engine, and the 2.4 lancer is not much slower than our Evo 260 at 6.1s to 60, and it can certainly be made as fast as that with a turbo in the future.
and id probably kill myself in an evo!
See why I dont want an evo?
But I do want a fast lancer that I can drive with reasonable fuel economy when I need to. 30MPG is reasonable, 18MPG is not - I drive so much everyday, that an Evo is out of the question.
