Oroginal trans here with 36k and counting. Fluid change around 33k and it was cleaner than my EVO after 3k miles. I took a magnet through the tranny fluid and it hardly picked up anything.

There are lemons everywhere but to say that the RA trans is bad as a whole then you are wrong.

Maybe its a direct correlation between Age and driving experience and possibly that this is a car marketed and priced to a younger crowd it may be the first stick shift most have owned... I was young and much harder on my cars in the past... I ripped out a CRX Si Tranny, a Ford Ranger Tranny, several Jeeps as well... I learned my lesson and now I've never heard the first synchro on my RA...

Don't try to say I can't drive. I might not be an old timer but the fact of the matter is I've never owned anything automatic. In fact, my first car was a 92 Talon AWD, thats right, a DSM and 'That' tranny. Guess what, never had an issue with the trans and it was sold with 86k miles. I'm back to a DSM trans recently and haven't had any problems. Maybe my RA was a lemon when I got it, but the Mitsu service sure didn't help. After multiple rebuilds I ended up with an entire replacement unit before things got squared away. My Ralliart was also the easiest driven, because as I've been flamed for before on here, I don't think its fast and never intended to race it, modify it, or beat on it.

I have that problem also, it's impossible to shift from 2nd to 1st if you are slightly moving. Also recently I've had issues with the car comming out of 1st when parked

DSM never had any tranny problems. You're nuts or just plain lucky. Try espousing such thing to DSM sites. They don't have a motto: "making a mechanic out of us since 1989" for nothing.

"Don't try to say I can't drive."
That's pure arrogance that one can do no wrong. It's just like Evo owners torching their T-case within 30K mileage . . . their claims of lemon too!

I just love the attitude of most people here, I'm not sure if it is just this section or the whole site. It's the whole guilty until proven innocent, I'll assume you must be a 16year old driving like a retard.. that's why you were in an accident philosophy... It's like it is always the driver's fault until he convinces everyone it wasn't him..then the useful responses flow in.

Maybe I'm nuts or plain lucky then. I'm on multiple DSM sites, I'm familiar with the well known issues of the cars and the notorious trans issues. What I'm saying is I drove a DSM when I was new to manual transmission cars, which would be when I'd say I wasn't really any good at first and had to get used to it. My RA was never driven hard. In fact, the first time the tranny had an issue was backing up out of a parking space. From that point on, after each service I had gear whining issues and/or regular gear grinding. Those issues I blame on the techs that serviced the car and I feel like it was never fixed properly. People assume I beat on the car, but it's the slowest car I've owned and I purchased it for gas mileage and reliability. During the time I had it, I also had a bike which served well for the speed factor. I don't know how I can really prove it, except maybe how I used to catch so much crap on this forum when I'd comment about not modding, not racing, etc with this car because I felt it an economical commuter and that was my RA's purpose. Oh well, there really isn't a point in continuously trying to prove any of my points because in the end my Ralliart is gone and I have a DSM again.

I don't know why everyone is jumping on you...I mean there are lemons and there are strawberries. You obviously got one that tastes sour.

There are 99% with good trannies and 1% with bad ones. Usually the 1% that people never listen to. I hear you though.

So most Ralliart drivers don't have transmission problems?

I am looking to purchase a 06 Ralliart and I want to hear its problem(s).. big or small!

Maybe 5 owners on here total. Hardly enough to be worried. By your 06, you won't regret it.
