Pulled the piggyback off today well only one wire so it can read the stock map. It is running better without the piggyback.

man, i dont know why ppl think that cutting the wire is the way to go. Whoever told you that should get smacked in the face. ALL of the wires are under the passenger seat and they're easy to unplug.

I'm sure RX-7's have better options, but we use what we have. RRM provides the software, so take that and a laptop to a tuning shop with a good reputation and a dyno and have them tune it for you. If you don't have a laptop, but do have the software, call them, I'm sure they have one at the shop they can use.

Thats good to hear that it is running better without the piggyback... now just imagine how much better it will run with a tuned Haltech

but in the meantime just enjoy it...

Same way, hook it up to a laptop with the software and toss the car onto a dyno.

I only had the piggy, downpipe, intake and a 2.25 exhaust and it will give me random misfires afters 3 passes. So, You NEED to have it retuned.... Im getting whichever header, but Ill get the Haltech MAINLY for the ignition timing option. I need it for good acceleration of the line and keep my GREAT top end....a pre 2005 350 z beating top end at that.

But the point remains, that for every new mod you need the software retuned

Just a FYI it is throwing the P0420 code which is in my terms " the car doesn't like the new flow" I'm just glad it wsan't something else. Now that I can clear the codes with scanner it saves me losing all my radio presets and time. Still I guess we need to find a CEL Elminator. I wonder if perrins electrical fix works on the RA?

The RRM piggyback is tuned for intake and axelback exhaust. It comes with software, all he has to do is have it dyno tuned for the new flow of the headers.

correct me if im wrong but isnt goign with a lower size tubing gives you more low end and less high but a bigger say 2.25 would give you more high and less low cause restriction = torge and more low end and more flow makes more less restriction meaning moree hig end power.

Pretty much correct on that. For example of the stock 04 downpipe which is crushed just before the cat this allows for more low end. After removing that small section of crushed pipe the car has a lot more in the top end.

You got me thinking about disconnecting my Piggy too. was it a noticeable difference or a dyno only 3hp type of difference?

Dyno first, the only reason I disconnected mine was because I had no idea what AFR I was running.

Side note I just went back to SRI and I now have throttle response
thanks to the tempatures here I can run SRI and not worry too much about heatsoak.

good to see someone else go SRI.

So are you planning on reconnecting it and getting it dyno tuned so you know your in a good range?

after i did my header i went and i was 12.8-13.1 the whole run so i must have actually been a little rich before the header. was real suprised.
