I installed my RPW header

All I can say is WOW!! This thing is great. I can definitely feel the gain in lower end torque! I can also feel the gains at the top but the low end is definitely where this header shines. No CEL as of yet!! I dont' know what else to say but this is definitely a great upgrade compared to stock.

Yes, I went with the dark gray ceramic coating because I don't like all the "bling, bling" stuff on my car. Sorry that my engine bay is as dirty as it is but I had to remove the radiator to do the install and when I took of the top radiator hose it decided to splash everywhere. So, I just hosed it off last night and got some water spots.

It was a pretty straight forward install and I think anyone could do it as long as they have some mechanical know how. The hardest part was pulling the radiator which everyone knows isn't all that hard. I did this job myself in about 2 hours.

Anyway, I'm leaving on vacation until Sunday so I will respond to any questions then.

Here are a couple of pictures of the pipe that I had to get flanged up and installed so that the cat would meet the catback. I was in and out of the exhaust shop in an hour.

Here's one question, did you have the downpipe before? Also, which version is this, the 2.25" or the 2.5"?

Ok, I'm on for a few seconds here and then I'm out. No, I did not have the downpipe before so I can't really compare the two. Once AdamRA puts his on he should be able to compare the two because I believe that he is running the downpipe right now. I measured this and the inside diameter is 2.25". I'm pretty sure that RPW only sells one size downpipe. However, they do sell different size extractor tubes. I have the smaller 1 and 5/8 inch extractors because I wanted more low end gains since I have an auto tranny. They also sell a 1 and 3/4 inch version which will give better top end at the expense of some lower end.

does the rpw header keep the stock cat? Or rather, CAN you keep the stock cat?
I wanna keep my car as "legal" as possible coz California is a pain.

That is correct, all aftermarket cats are illegal (federal law.) If a stock cat goes bad on a car, it must be replaced with OEM or equivilent.

Fantastic to see and photos look great.

Already spoken with our header manafacturer and we are making bascially a replica of your extra pipe section, so that our systems will be 100% compatible with all RA vehicles.

Glad to hear you like the torque improvement as well, especially on the auto model and best of all

NO CEL LIGHT - yay

Thanks for the feedback and as said, all future models will be including a O2 Sensor fitting in the secondary position, and the extra joiner pipe if necessary. Just need to narrow down the model which requires this extra length on the pipe.

And for those wanting a header package themselves, we have plenty in stock, although they are selling fast but we are currently keeping our production priorities high to ensure we retain stock. I also am now stockign 5 units at a time pre coated in silver for those wanting coated sets.

I'm not sure if you can keep the stock cat on yours for this or not. I know that I couldn't keep mine because it is welded on to the stock DP and I didn't want to cut mine off and have it rewelded onto this. I also wanted a high-flow cat for the extra power and flow it provides compared to the OEM one.

I'm not sure that all aftermarket cats are illegal. However, I do know that a shop can not legally replace a cat until it is 4 years old or goes bad, which ever comes first.

Well, I was hoping that I could just take out the two fans and it would just slide right down but no matter which way I tried to drop it in it just wasn't going to fit. I even tried to stuff it up from the bottom and the only way it would have gone that way is if I removed an A/C line which would require the machine to decharge and then recharge the A/C. Once I removed the radiator I still had to angle it in there because of the condeser but it went in pretty easy. So, in short, there just wasn't enough room to drop it in with the radiator still there. Oh, I know that you were saying that you were going to have a shop do this for you because of the extra piece needed but my shop quoted me $200 and that didn't count removing the radiator. Just a fore warning on that.
