Dyno visit
Visited p1auto and their mustang dyno yesterday. It took us awhile to get the R4 software to work properly, the guy that was working on my car said they have only done like 2 or 3 other split second controllers before, and we never did get to pull the map off of the ecu. He called split second and they walked him through some steps so we could get the car running with the computer hooked up to the piggyback, and then reset all values to factory pass through(10.) At that point I had been there strapped down for about 45 minutes.
In any case, the final numbers were 143.7HP @ 5500RPM and 145.2ft/lb @ 4100RPM. He also said add around 16% if I wanted the dynojet numbers. I did it on my phone calculator while I was still there and it's in the 160's, but from what I have read and from what the tuner said I think I will stick with my real numbers.
EDIT: Temps were in the low 80's.

I still think we could get a few more horses but i didnt have enough time to keep playing with it. At the end when we compared graphs from 09/07/06 and today with 3rd gear pulls(previous numbers were done on 4th)we saw the amazing gain in the mid-range marked by a black line running down the middle of both graphs. Heres the picture of the graphs :
Wow - 19 HP and 22Tque is huge! and looking at the chart, that carries through for a fair RPM range. I'd be very interrested to see your final map although I live in a very diff. climate (Toronto), it would be a good reference point.
It is also good to hear that there were no dangerous values with 8.9 being the lowest.
Good numbers for Dangerous Dan. 145 on a Mustang Dyno is very good. That is easily 167ish on a Dynojet.
I think that if I would have known this, I should be able to hit 185 again and this time work it so i can get some torque, I only made around 173....
So I guess I will manage with only the header and and tuning the rrm for now.
Im read a good article on headers on this months TURBO magazine, as well about nice info on lightened flywheels...
So I think i will be going for a cam a a big diameter header

Its just 2 much paying 500+ for a "plug and play" ecu.. Then I need to buy other parts to fix it .. Get headaches trying to figure out how the dam thing works... Plus on top of that risking my engine.. It’s not worth it. You can just go with a stand alone, only 800 bucks plus tuning.. around 1k no more than that. Or go with other setups that will cost less.
nice number death,
any other advise to give us on where to start with the tune..?
Im sure not everybody has played with a slit second pb before.. so to save us some money, where should we start the tune?

start by searching, one of the other members has posted this information before, but I don't know where it is. there are tons of threads about the piggyback, this one is about a particular members dyno visit and related issues. It is always a good idea to go to a professional when you could potentially damage something.
I started searching and reading when I posted the above message.
