Dyno visit

So i decided to go and dyno the RA. I did 3 runs and the results are .... horrible compared to what i was hoping for. I was shooting for 160-170whp since i've beaten cars with that amount of whp. First let me list my mods again:

1)P&P manifold
2)UD pulley
3)RRM catback system
4)DP
5)RRM piggy *(heres the problem)*
6)RRM CAI

Now the highest hp i got was 151.3 whp and 143.8 tq on the third run 4th gear(pic of the graph will come later since i have no camera with me). Now here is the problem , the car is running EXTREMELY lean , the air/fuel ratios were at 17and its not the version 1 piggy. Personally i would recommend anyone that has the piggy to do a dyno run , since having a car this lean is extremely bad for the cars overall performance and from other posts here in the forums , I'm not the only one with a lean tune. My run was even lower than RRM's claimed 27whp gain. The tuner at the dyno said i could be losing from 5whp to 10whp ,and that i should take it easy with the car. I'll go again next week to try and tune the car and then make a run. Ill post any info i have in this thread.

Were on the same boat pal. I lost a bunch of hp... form 182 hp and 175 tq, to a meager 158 hp and 161 tq.... the only additions I made since last runs were the piggy and the Eclipse muffler(maybe to damn big outlet). I already have the software to tune the piggy, but dont know anyone that will risk tuning it. I may have to bring the current tune and start changing some values myself... it will be making the mix richer so I dont think ill be risking much...little by little maybe ill correct my problem... either that or run some VP to make for the lean condition on race days

You still have way more tq. than i do , but im not sure if i will take the piggy for tunning. The guy at the dyno did say that i was losing from 5whp -10whp cause of how lean the car was running, so at the end i guess i should be in the 160-ish. Still i'm more than dissapointed in the results i got.

JUST OUTTA CURIOUSITY.......O.K. , I have the same mods as you death, minus the piggy and p&p intake manny (intake manny on order RRM said like about a week) now I am spraying (wet) lets say i keep the bottle closed and flip the wot switch , now the fuel will still spray and possibly help with the leaning out that I am assuming that i have based on your trials as well as others...and I'm in south FL so the climate is similar....THIS IS JUST A SENERIO , I AM NOT GOING TO DO THIS , so no bashing and if you comments aren't helpful please keep them to yourself...thanks

the problem is that map guys.... i got to the dyno a little bit too late but i was talking to luis (SR. K), and basically the main problem is the map it is most likely and posible that the pretune was for a turbo application.... to damm lean AFR wen to 18 and 19... so he is going to examine the program, to get more familiar with it, and you'll see things should get better...

well im not too sure about that...
remember not all cars are the same and factors such as weather and altitude affect dyn runs, and even mods.... thats mods 101
if the map gets changed for the better we think we can make a lot of hp...
also we suspect that the map that was in was for a turbo car.... i mean ra's run lean but not THAT lean

I've dealt with RRM and they're a very good company , im just thinking this was a very huge mistake seeing as how i'm not the only one and the AFR is very lean. We're gonna try and tune the car either on monday or tuesday , and its better this way cause now we can tune it taking all of the mods i have into account. Hopefully PR_Mivec will help out on the next one .

I'd be nice if i can get someone with experience on this , but i know once luis gets familiar with the program he can definetly help solve this.

Guys, Let me see if I can hook you up with a correct map. Please I've been telling it here for about 4 months that the maps RRM is providing to some are wrong and may damage the engine. They in some areas have -35% in some areas and air fuel in the 17's. Lets see if I can give a map for you to start tunning.

Its not like an any expert on anything near this sort but lets not blame RRM or the hardware for what is simply a config problem. RRM is in California very likely near sea level and probably a balmy 70-80 degrees when they tuned their maps for the piggy. Now RRM hasn't said it but RPW has, and thats "the piggy is probably 80% ready for your car and as soon as you get your piggy installed run down to a tuner and get them to tune the vehicle properly". This makes very good sense as the tuner shops local to you have taken altititude and temperature etc into consideration whereas RRM just cant for all the different locales. Granted, I think RRM should be telling people to get their stuff tuned after an install as opposed to telling them its 100% safe and ready to go after wiring it up, I still think you guys will be plenty happy after your car gets tuned properly for your cars specs and your enviornmental variables.
