Service Engine Soon!!!

I was on the freeway going to work and this morning and the Service Engine Soon light came on. I checked all the fluids, belt, gas cap, and found nothing. The car isnt driving funny or anything. I am going to check for codes when I get a chance to later. I was looking for a plug in for the scanner and couldnt find one. Can someone tell me where it is at? I checked the dash near drivers-side lower left where most cars have them and found a little compartment but it was empty.
My mods are Injen CAI and RRM Pulley just incase anybody asks. I checked the intake for any sort of leaks with no luck.

Look underneath the dash, just to the right of the steering wheel. You'll see two ports, one is the OBDII port (the one you want) and the other is the MUTS port (Mitsu's proprietary port)

Code P0304...Misfire in cylinder 4.
I cleared the code and test drove it and everything seems to be running fine. Should I have anything to be worried about? It is still under warranty but it takes about 4-5 days to get in at my dealership.

You need a OBDII code reader. Most autoparts stores have them behind the counter, and they'll check a code for you, and they also sell them. You can also buy a cable and check them with a laptop.

I wouldn't worry about the misfire unless it happens again.

You dont really get the code from exhaust, its mostly by eliminating the cat.

If you go to your auto parts store, like checkers, autozone, they do the testing for free. and give you a nice print out of what the problem is. I got that message as well,
and i was told to run sea foam thru the system. I still get that message especially when its cold outside, and i start my baby up. Its over the warrenty so i think i'm just going to replace that F/I. The light comes on and off. Its weird..but yeah my car does mis fire a little bit. especially at idle.

SES = CEL

The cable for laptops can be found here. This cable is specific to Mitsubishi, so if someone ever figures out how to flash our ECU, you can do it with this cable. You do need software, and have a couple options. First is EVOscan, which costs about $25, available here. Another option is some software put out by AktiveMatrix.com, MalibuJack's project. He has both his own logger there, as well as a generic OBDII logger, for free.
