service engine soon light came on?

just installed the evc v, I was in third gear getting on highway and kicked it. Next thing you know, the evo makes a loud sound and jerks a little and then my service engine soon light comes on.

I stop and check to see if anything came loose or what not, everything looked fine.

Drove around some more, car still pulls hard.

I have beend having trouble with setting the evc, I keep getting boost spikes up to 23 psi, don't know if I am doing it right, that could be it.

But now my light won't go off, what could it have been. Any tips or suggestions?

you hit fuel cut...its colder out...turn your boost down, reset your ecu, or get flashed and youll be good to go.

What setting are you running? What is your safety peak warning set at? Do you have the proper fuel mods to run 23psi?

No, the only mods I have are intake and the evc. I only want it to run 21 psi. I drove it some more today, it is over boosting way too much. When I shut it off, it still peaks at 24.9 psi, when i turn it all the way to 100 it peaks at 11 psi, the warning is set for 22.5 psi. I am completly lost.

... I would go take that off and have the dealer check it out. 24.9 psi is very high for a stock engine A/F... even though our engine is running rich.

Make sure the little switch on the back of the controller is set to the internal wastegate setting.
It should stay at 11lbs or so when you turn the A or B setting (whichever it is on) all the way CCW to 0.
This is the WG spring pressure.

Also, did you reuse any of the stock vac hoses ?? If so, you may have one of the pills (there are 2) still in.

Just some quick thoughts.

its on internal, when it is all the way clockwise at 100 it runs 11 psi, its backwards. I could understand if this would hold true but at 0 it runs max boost and when it is cut off it runs max boost. I had to change the 2 6mm hoses around to make it do that like the evc IV set up but before when the hoses where the right way at 0 i got max boost, at 100 i got max boost, and when its off I got max boost, and around 20-50 I got like 11 psi to 16 psi.

The whole thing is messed up, I don't want to use the dealer unless it is last resort.

I will make sure about the hoses though, any other ideas?

I would just take it off and use something simple like a MBC.

Why? Some things are more satisfying than adjusting boost with a screwdriver.
