basic mods horsepower?
I have tried brake torquing and revved the engine as high as 2500rpm but there was no difference in performance between that and just mashing the gas and going. Kind of frustrated so exhaust mods seem like next best thing. Anyone know wether rrm piggyback for autos really increases perf? Thanks
btw, you need to go to a dyno to get the arbitrary numbers for your car, there are too many variables involved in determining the output of the engine to tell you anything but a generic range. the only thing that is important about a dyno is that you know what your baseline numbers are. Your numbers will change at any random time due to weather, fuel, and physical conditions, even if you don't modify anything at all. so you go and get your baseline, install the modification, and run on the dyno again as close together as possible. the best thing you could do is leave the car strapped down and do the work, this limits as many variables as possible and lets you know almost exactly what your increase was.
there are two types of dynamometer drums: eddy current, which is good for tuning, and inertia, which has excellent repeatability for mod comparison. the numbers on an eddy current dyno at typical 10 to 17 percent lower than those on an inertia dyno, but because the dyno can load the engine these are closer to your real world wheel horsepower and torque numbers, and allows you to tune the car properly.

not yet, it is hooked up but the sensors are bypassed around the unit. it will not run with the sensors hooked up, and with everything going on the last week or so I haven't had any more time to mess with it. I got an email from perfect power with some suggestions to try, and I am gonna try and modify the fuel with the map sensor instead of the MAF if that doesn't work. Probably this weekend, I will post up though.
