barbaric isn't the word I was looking for but I can live with it. I'm curious to know how it's gonna feel though since I'm stock. I can imagine it's gonna be stiff as **** and wanna stall unless i rev her up..? is that about right?

That's pretty close, when it's engaged, it's engaged and there's really no middle ground.

you've got to blip the throttle a little harder to get it going. and like cow said, it's more like an on off switch than a soft engagement

Yeah, U will have to learn to feather the clutch to get anything close to a normal set off, but it aint that hard.....once u get used to it.... Be sure to get the modulator eraser or to gut the modulator... cuz it will feel kinda gummy at the pedal if U leave it as is.

It will feel heavy ( the pedal ) for about a week or so, after that its a breeze. Also, be on the lookout for a new clutch master cylinder cuz one day it can leave u without pressure.... it will give u signs before failure and it takes quite some time before it fails completely. Take periodical turns in bleeding the clutch system too, it will make the master/slave last a lot longer

Sorry for the long post, but didnt want to leave anything I had on my head

Ok, it's been a while now and the clutch is broken in.. At first it would bite like a bat out of hell and took some getting used to. After like 2 weeks it wouldnt bite as hard and I could take off more smoothly. I have noticed that when I let the clutch out in 1st it will make a sound ( kind of like stepping on the brakes you hear a little screech..?) Then when the clutch is fully out it wont make any noise. But it only makes that noise in 1st. Have no idea what it is..but it sounds like ****! Anyone know what that could be??

dthe way you describe it , maybe thats the sound your hearing....

I get that a lot.. kinda like a slipping clutch sound when you try to get into gear lightly, happens a lot on a hill start. I was told changing to a higher end gear oil might fix it but i'm not sure. I plan on flushing all my fluids soon and rebleeding everything so I'll get back to you. I can tell you though, the shop i went to for my clutch knew their stuff but definitely used some generic gear oil according to my buddy who used to work there.

PS: I also get a ticking/chatter sound from what I thought was my throw out bearing, but now that i think about it its sounds like its somewhere near the clutch slave cylinder... I believe Otter is having a similar problem, no one knows yet...

Yeah the guy resurfaced the flywheel for me..I figured it would be still be good. It definitely isn't the tires though haha. But I was getting in my car this morning and my slave or master cylinder gave out on me..there's no pressure in my clutch and it goes to the floor every time I step on it. So i had to get it towed to the shop and I'm without a car once again.

Bruce, I think we have the same problem..It sounds like that whenever I let off the clutch. And about that other chatter noise you hear...I have that too! Maybe Otter can tell us what his is like. It sounds to me like its coming from the exhaust or something..It will only make the noise when i start it up or rev the engine slightly. I may be wrong, my buddy told me it could be a hole in my exhaust or something..i'm in a load of crap lol

how long before your slave cylinder crapped out? another one bites the dust with an aftermarket clutch

The sound u hear is the bronze particles against the flywheel, if you had an all bronze setup like I do, it would be happening every day

Told U about the master, take time to bleed it once every 2 weeks, or if u are a car freak like us, do it every weekend as u step into your garage with beer in hand, never fails....it will make it last longer

heres a tip, If you dont want to be changing masters all the time, take out the master, it has a plate in the side with 4 little bolts, take them out, secure the little paper gasket when u take the plate. There's a circular plate, try to beat that area against your hand a bit and it will separate. You will find an O-ring, flat type. Take it to a shop and get the same O-ring but with a higher psi spec( so it will withstand more pressure) and replace. Most times, thats the part which gives in the master.....you will know cuz there will be little pieces of rubber around the O-ring. If u can do this(I have not yet done this) U will save a bundle on your masters insurance....meh
