R4 software and vista
Im wondering if anyone has had the same problem as me with the R4 software for the RRM piggyback and trying to connect to it using a laptop with windows vista, each time i try to connect the pop up says attempting to connect then maybe 20 seconds later it says windows had a problem with the program and has to close it, is there a trick to it or does it just not work with Vista?
I'm not on a Vista computer, so I'll try my best.
If you right click the program and go to properties (I think,) there should be a tab called "Compatibility." I think you have to check a box then you can set it to Window's XP.
It's worked for me on a few different programs that weren't getting along with Vista.

Allright i tryed that and it stopped the computer from freezing up but windows still had problems and needed to close hmmm thats a cool thing though i thought it would work, darn, but thanks for the suggestion
^ well, -if- you have a copy of windows xp laying around, you can download Microsoft Virtual PC off of their website, and install windows XP onto the host operating system.
To learn more about Virtual PC, click here.
You can really install any windows OS onto the host operating system if you choose. In fact, I have windows 3.1 for workgroups set up as well haha.
