voltage after underdrive pulley install

whats the voltage like for anyone with the rrm udp? mine fluctuates between 12.75 and 14.00 volts... is that normal considering the alt is turning slower, or is it not normal?

As long as your voltage isn't dropping below 12.0v it's normal.

try to put a grounding kit and a voltage stabilizer...a friend of mine in PR did that after installing the pulley and the voltage fluctuation was between 13.1-14

I installed my RRM UDP about 5 months ago and there were no problems at all, but about a week ago, i noticed my headlights dimming when i being acceleration. Does anyone know why the dimming lights would just start now? Is it even related to my UDP? Thanks

I've had mine on for a while and havent had any problems that I can tell of.....isn't the rrm pulley smaller in size causing the alternator to spin faster?

your logic is flawed. a smaller pulley will spin the serpentine belt slower, under-driving the alternator, ac compressor, etc... hence 'underdrive pulley'

quit worrying, ppl. seriously. lol. i've had mine on for a year now, its no worries.

I had my UD pulley on for 161,000 miles before my alternator died. Put the UDP on when my car had 20,000 miles and my alternator finally kicked it a couple months ago at around 181,000 miles. If anything, and this is purely anecdotal, the UDP probably helped my alt last a bit longer as I've never had an alternator last that long.
