RRM PB hard numbers

I've been reading and researching a lot on this forum about the RRM PB. I'm very interested in purchasing one. I've read a lot on people's perception and seat of the pants reviews but no real factual info. I'm looking for actual numbers from a dyno on increases if anyone has them. I might have missed some of those post in all of the threads that are out here for the RRM PB. I've read about the gas mileage gains, which appear to be very good. But I'm truly interested in HP\TQ gains, as I'm sure 99.9% of us are.

Also, I'm looking for a long term review. If you have had this mod installed in your car for over a year, please post a review year to date. I read the sticky on product reviews, but most have reviewed a product only after a short time. I'd like to see a long term review.

This forum has been a wealth of knowledge and I appreciate everyone's feedback.

Thanks
veloracer

Well, I didn't buy the PB just yet. I bought the timing box and UDP. I do have access to a dyno and plan on doing a dyno run (hopefully tomorrow) on a stock RA with an AEM SRI.

From there, I'll install the timing box and UDP and hopefully should see some gains. My next purchase will be an RPW header (although quite pricey, appears to be one of the better made headers).
The OBX looks pretty cheap and if warps or cracks by the manifold flange, it isn't worth spit. The RRM looks pretty good, but don't feel like doing a weld on cat.

Hopefully I'll have some numbers in a couple of weeks to show the gains.

As far as the PB, well, that will probably be done next year if at all. That will be a game time decision.

you cant really get actual numbers from the PB alone. its more of a % increase based on the mods you have as opposed to you're going to get these certain types of numbers. everyone is going to be different so its one of those you kind of got to find the gains after you dyno it

I figured as much. I know the PB pretty much changes the fuel map, that's why I got those other components first.
When I spoke with Rob @ RRM, which btw, was one hell of a nice guy and we had a really good insightful discussion, I bypassed the PB for right now.
My real fun car is the VW, this is my DD and I'm just looking to put a little more fun back in the car. I've owned it since 5k was on in early '05. Great car, just needs a bit more giddy up.

I was just looking to see if anyone had actually dyno'd the car with the PB (and other components that match). Just curious to see what it produces as a whole.

i actually picked up all my mods before the PB that way it would do maximum benefit to the cars components. all i need left is the rrm cam and some pistons and i think i'll be done

This is my thoughts on the rrm piggy. I am not trying to bash rrm in any way. I love there products and almost every mod on my car is from rrm. I personally have had nothing but issues with the piggy. I ended up just giving up on it. I keep getting PO107 CEL. "Lean Bank". I check the wiring 100 times, even called RRM and had them walk me through the install. Everything seemed correct. It seemed so flaky. I would reset the ecu and run it through all the learning stages and some times it would run for 1000 miles without any CEL, then other times it would pop on at 80 miles or 250 miles. It did seem to have more power at higher rpms in mivec. It just wasn't worth the problems that it was causing. That is my 2 cents on the RRM piggy.

Most likely you need a little more fuel added to the map. I kept getting lean codes and Rob added 2% to the mixture and never had and issue with Cel's after.

ya that would most likely fix the problem. Personally i cannot tell that much of a difference with it off. The top end seems little less powerful but besides that. Just my opinion. I am going to move onto bigger and better things "AKA TURBO"!!!!!

Not the right section for it but I would like to eventually go to a Turbo/Nos injection setup and make some real power

A friend of mine have outputted approximatively the OEM engine HP and a little more torque at wheel.

I have every bolt-on, CAI-Piggy-DP-Catback-UDP-RRM cam-timing box and Headers I think!!

So after all to have a little gain on a NA Ra you need a lot of stuff!!
