i was wondering where i could get a performance chip for my 2006 lancer Ralliart. when i called next mod and magnus they said that they didnt make any for the Ra from 2004-2006. does anyone have any ideas as to where i could get one??

Your only options are roadracemotorsports.com's Timing Box (plug and play), a piggy back hooked up to your ECU, or an ECU re-flash. For more info on any of those things, feel free to search the forums. Lots of info.

 

ECU reflash is pretty awesome...it does what a piggy back does, and more, but is better and reliable...also has higher rev limit and launch control...

i travel between barrie and belleville every week, i'm in barrie (CFB borden) on weekdays, we could probably meet up sometime if you wanna check out the ECU reflash....the guy that does it lives in ottawa...

assuming the vaughan you're from is in ontario, and just north of TO...then we can definately get together and you can try it out...i'm mostly stock

What exactly is a reflash? and can it be reversed? should you still get the timing box?

A reflash will remap your ECU to do different things, such as tune for the mods that you have to make them work together. There are also features you can have such as launch control and raising the rev limiter.

Yes it can be reversed.

You should not get the timing box if you are getting a reflash, because I believe the reflash will do the same thing the timing box would do.

 

Cool, come by and see me sometime. 819-778-7047. If you get a tactrix cable then you can remove or reinstall it from home. I might even be able to demo it for you... There is no point in getting a timing box as the reflash not only adjusts the timing but also keeps your factory knock control properly protecting the engine!

Chaz, if i'm not mistaken, if you reflash to stock they should not be able to tell it was ever done, and i would say that it would void your warranty if they were to find out...
