Reflash and GT TB = Lean Code

I am currently running the Eclipse GT TB and the Hackish reflash. Every hundred miles or so I throw a a P0171. I have tightened everything down and even bought a new TB gasket. Still no luck. I know there are others that run the same combo without issue.

I believe I was the first to be reflashed, so I'm wondering if Hack made improvements along the way to the map that made this a non-issue.

Any Thoughts?

TSB 0613009.
Replace injector O rings 1465A188 and injector insulators MD087060. Remember to get 4 of each.

Did you check for a fuel leak? maybe a fuel pressure issue as well, cause don't the injectors work on DC pulses, and i don't think the fuel pump is monitored by the ECU.

I don't smell any fuel leaking.

How would I go about testing the fuel pressure?

My fuel pump and filter are brand new...fyi

What air filter do you have? or check the MAF for crud build up, when I first cleaned the weapon r filter I had I went a bit mental with the cleaning solution and did not let it dry properly. If not check to see the the MAF is starting to go on you.

Just making sure. And if that's all new, then obviously it's not the problem. (fuel pressure is measured with a fuel pressure gauge )

If you got fuel, then it's an air problem, as Brent is suggesting.

I'm running an AEM air filter with AEM pre-filyter. The MAF is new, bought ilast year and I've cleaned it multiple times. I'm inclined to belive that testing the MAf is not simple.

Bought the o2 sensor last year, not even 2K miles on them.

I've only been throwing the lean code since I installed the larger TB. At this point I am out of ideas and I'm leading to belive that I'm just not delivering enough fuel.

only one way to find out...a very thorough check of the fuel system, I was looking at the manual today after reading your reply to my first comment, and there are a number of things that could cause you to throw a lean code.

This is from the manual

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS (The most likely
causes for this code to be set are: )
• Mass airflow sensor failed.
• Injector failed.
• Incorrect fuel pressure.
• Air drawn in from gaps in gasket, seals, etc.
• Engine coolant temperature sensor failed.
• Intake air temperature sensor failed.
• Manifold absolute pressure sensor failed.
• Barometric pressure sensor failed.
• Exhaust leak.
• Use of incorrect or contaminated fuel.
• Harness damage in injector circuit or connector
damage.
• ECM failed. <M/T>

hmmm , have you emailed hackish about this? I know he is hard to get a hold of but it's worth a try, and once he releases the software a custom tune might solve this problem.

And just to be sure ,you have the o2 sensor spacer on the 2nd sensor from the front?

I'm running a high flow cat, no spacer needed.

I'm assuming that if any of my sensors are failing my ECU would throw that particular. Highly plausible that it may not but more difficult to test. If an injector were to be failing I'd assume I'd have some misfiring...have not had that yet. I'm running 93 octane fuel.....argh this is frustrating. I will email Hack...or email rather talk to Brent...much easier to reach than Hackman

My reflash is tuned for 91...i know you were one of the early guinea pigs, but i would verify the fuel is correct.

You are correct that the sensors would throw codes of their own, but there's a few sensors there that i'm not sure have codes accoiated with their failure, but my gut says fuel pressure, i dunno man, i know it's the ****s, but it might be easier to have a technician do a scan.
