mt90 is better for above 0°C but cranswick who is reputable says the cocktail works well, bg synchroshift ive been told good things about but unsure about temperateness, what ive been doing recently is taking a gas "jerry" can to mitsu and for like 30$ cash they give me 5L of the oem oil which is usually good for two changes those other two will cost you about 50 for one change

and its better you ask now then end up like i me 2 years ago when i first put the amsoil in

when i drove my old lancer in witner the oem worked fine, i dont recall it being hard to shift in the cold at all, my RA i can say guy before me never drove it in winter and i dont either so the coldest its ever really seen is maybe 5-10°C but i keep it in my garage so even then its not that cold at start up and by the time im done work its warmer out.

I might hit up my local dealership and ask if they can sell me some fluid

Wow this is absurd. You continue to call out AMSOIL and fail to remember you used the inccorect fluids.
You were supposed to use MTG GL4 for the manual tranny and you used the wrong fluid all along. So now you blame us for your negligence. Comon man !

The MTF does not meet the requirements

If u read anything more then the last post ive acknowledged a few times that yes mtf was wrong and mtg would have been right, but mtf does fit our requirments.

I never once called out amsoil i only ever said mtf sucks in our trans

edit 1: i did say amsoil is ****, but i meant mtf is ****

apagan01 chill, before someone reposts from at least 2 threads where you said to use MTF in our car.
The car requires GL4 and MTF is not GL4.
Differently, I would like to focus more on how to stop our gearboxes from falling apart like they're made of plasticine.
I want to say thanks to those who have had to pull apart theirs already and are reporting on the issues.

yeah i have to double check i could have sworn on the backside the MTF bottle said it was gl-4 capable which is why ive been fighting this or else i would have never bought it in the first place. Goona go look tomorrow after work.

Edit 1: as to your other comment about the self imploding trans, ive never had a problem the trans was wonderful until i reached the gear oil change out mileage and until I MADE THE MISTAKE of putting the MTF into the trans, if i had stuck with OEM or gotten i guess MTG or MT90 etc i would have been fine probably and not have to do any of this.

Maybe not in your case Rob, but others have had to do work Cranswick, or have to do work soon Nekkidlad and another guy from To who had Cranswick check his car out and there are others still.

In this day a gearbox should be able to handle abuse as routine.

Riddle me this, 2006_RA. Which came first?

1. the broken timing belt seizing the engine and thus shocking the tranny gears

or

2. the use of wrong tranny oil that was too slippery and f'ed the synchros so the gear teeth chipped

or

3. the transmission simply breaking on its own?

I would only accept failure in the case of 2.
1 is a non event and 3 seems to be what some are experiencing.
