k first of all i did search around, but most of the topics i found was either with having aftermarket parts installed and whatnot done to their cars but mine is stock.

the engine light came on as i was driving it this morning and so far it hasnt turned off. it may be the gas cover?? i put gas the other night and maybe its whats causing it. no weird RPM or any knocking or whatever as far as i notice, and i can still drive it as fast with no bogging/limping/stalling etc. just wondering what couldve cost this so i dont have to deal with the dealership. thanks.

 

Somewhere like autozone should read it for free for you. It's impossible to know what it could be without a code, since there's thousands of codes in the car.

mine did that once before i modded anything, but all it was was a dirty air filter for me. at least i think it was. I cleaned my filter (this was before i had the CAI) and the CEL went away. just my 2 cents, may or may not work for you.

 

same, i had a loose negative battery terminal like a month after i got the car

 

dirty MAFs or untightened gas caps can throw codes too
