Flexane 80 Motor Mount Review

Hello Everyone,

About 3 months ago I noticed a tear in my rear motor mount. I decided to use Flexane 80 to repair the mount. After getting the mount out of the car, sanding, and cleaning it. I added the mix and let it settle for 48 hours. This stuff hardened up really nicely! It's been 3 months since I made this mount and it is holding up perfectly! I let the excess sit from when I had mixed the liquids together and this stuff is as hard as a rock. I took a sledge hammer to it, shot it my buddies AR, and took a baseball bat to it for fun. It did not phase this material at all! This is some High quality stuff and would highly recommend doing this to your mounts if you don't mind the added cabin vibration!

On at second note, I had been getting codes for my car that my bank 1 sensor was running too lean. This code was coming on and off for a 6 month period. Nothing I did would fix it. As soon as I fixed the motor mount it went away!

the lean code could've been caused by a wiring short or loose connector or something when the mount flexed...yes it may be "fixed" now but the issue could still be there....just not active...right?

ps good to hear u like the mount..now u need to make a matching front mount...haha...i was planning on doing the same(no tear tho..) to my RA before i traded it in..(along with a bunch of trans work)

That's what I thought, but I had them tested and the wires inspected and they were not able to locate a short or a bad connection. I actually have a blox motor mount installed in the front already. I installed that quite a while ago and believe it was the cause of cracking in rear motor mount. I am thinking about converting the 2 remaining mounts to polyurethane as well! I will keep you all updated if I decide to venture down that route.

i think if you look around, it's not really woth making the solid side mounts unless you're racing only...because like 90% of the engine movement is rolling...so if you have those solid already, u're already golden...
you'll still have a bit of engine movement, but it wont be as much as if you had the OE front and rear mount because they allow the engine to move more than now and that allows the side mounts to move more, comparedto now that you have the solid ones...

ps...also if you look around there's a lot of cases people have reported damaged rear mount after a while from installing the front mount...so IMO the front mount killed the rear...

I agree, I figured it would be a matter of time before my rear motor mount went out after replacing my front.

The reason that I was thinking about doing the other 2 mounts is for shifting purposes only. I have installed a short shifter, solid shift base bushings and under hood bushing, Fidanza flywheel, stage 2 clutch, and steel braided clutch line. Maybe I will just do the tranny motor mount. I thoroughly enjoy shifting and wanted to do a little something more to improve it.
