Cursing today on the highway CEL pops on and I loose all my throttle. Pulled off to the side of the road and noticed that I only had throttle engaged after 50% pushing it down. I was able to drive it the rest of the way to school in limp mode. I shut the car off and let it sit for a few minutes. Started it back up and I had throttle starting from 0 - 100%. Read the code and it P2138 (Apps Sensor Issue). The odd thing is I replaced this sensor about a year or 2 ago. I was reading Mitsubishi has an ECU update for this bug. Any ideas what I should do. I pulled the negative to clear the code and everything seems fine. Thanks guys.

 

this happened to me a few years ago, and after resetting the ECU it hasn't happened since...

You're tuned so you can't get your ECU reflashed by the dealer...what were the details of the "fix"?

 

Yea true forgot about the Hackish tune. It was on a forum I was reading. Might not have been for our cars specifically. I ended up calling Mitsubishi dealership and they said there are no recalls for my car and it would cost $99 to do a ECU firmware update. Screw that! Stealership! I will take my chances. Hope it doesn't return.
