P2138 every couple of days

So I have been getting a cel every couple of days usually within the first 5 minites of starting the car. The car goes into limp mode and I have to turn it off to get it out of limp mode. I have been reading there is a flash at mitsubish that is suppose to fix this? Does anyone know anything about this?

Also I just replaced the apps sensor (behind the passanger light) and it came on today again. I thought for sure a new apps sensor would fix this. This is the link I was reading

Going back to the stock ECU fixed this issue. Haven't had the light come one yet since dumping hackish's flash.

hackish's flash doesn't have anything to do with the APPS...the problem may be with the ECU itself...have you tried reflashing with the latest definitions?

I have not. Need a bench or a better way to upload the new definition. I could swap out the ECU and give it a try but the stock ECU has been running so well.

for the 04 models, once you have the initial flash you should be able to use a laptop + tactrix, like everyone else...

I was never able to get the flash on my stock ECU due to the fact that the 04 didn't expose the vin number to hackish like the other 05,06 ECU's. So he didn't want to flash it because the point is to lock your vin onto your account so you cant go around flashing everyones ECU with one account. He sold me an 05 ECU that we were able to reflash and it worked for 8 months then started throwing that code. Put stock ECU back in and has been fine.

That was the scare but try flashing a 2004 ROM with a different ROMID you will get codes, many codes! Also you cannot flash a 04 rom on a 05 ECU and expect it to function properly. He was so determined for someone not to steal the work he either left out or was not aware there is no way to protect the work. MMCFLASH will read his protected files so bit of a waste of time really. I understand and fully agree there are many scumbags looking to steal technology but I am still a firm believer that most that pay for something don't give it away for free. Yepp there are dirtbags but I believe the majority are honest guys and appreciate/respect the work that has gone into this.

mikemike you may want to try his newer work, you were one of the first and back then there was alot of guess work and not much testing, case in point look at how your car is reacting. I know your situation and knowing what i know now your car should have never been attempted in this way. Since then I will admit his work is a lot better. He should fix this up for free it has been along time
