P0335 & P0340 How do i fix this??
ok so i had been getting the P0300 misfire code for awhile n had just become accustomed to having the CEL on but before i went for inspection today i pulled the codes n cleared them but i found P0335 - Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction and P0340 - Crankshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction also in there, now i cleared them and by the time i got back to my house from the inspection (which i passed) the CEL was back on and those 2 codes were in there, if it matters they were in there twice each
now how do i go about fixing this and is it life or death?
i mean it didnt put the car in limp mode and it didnt keep flashing (not supposed to keep driving if thats the case)

272s bolt-ons, WR8, 3.5 core, i just read that it can be caused by running lean and im putting injectors in today so ill see if that solves the problem, i will of course be checking the connections there regardless
I used to get the same codes going through the car wash. All I did was put some
Noalox connecting grease on the plugs haven't had a problem since. Make sure
you guys find out which cam sensor is causing the problem. The exhaust side is
usually the culprit.

have the same issue.
My car was at first just throwing the p340 code. and would not start. then i messed with some wires on the engine harness under the battery box. got it to start. Yet i havent turned the car off yet iam letting it run for awhile.
Now the cars throwing p340 as well p335 so its throwing cam and crank.
not sure what the deal is. I had the same issue with my 95 GSX after rebuilding it. But one day it just went away..
So now i have no idea. But still there has yet to be an answer in this thread on what fixed anyone's problem?

brand new battery, no hard starts at all, car just throws the codes...have logged for hundreds of hours with those codes present and they never effect my tune so i dont understand them, im gunna try the dielectric grease today on the cam sensor, i got grab my factory service maneul for the crank position sensor
Weird. Probably 99% of the time I've seen both codes set at the same time has been due a weak battery.
I'm guessing you've cleared the codes and they've come back? Did you stall out around the time the codes set?

nope if i clear them they come on the first time i go WOT after they clear, i have my CEL for the P0300 code turned off in my ecu periphery i thought that was always my check engine light, once i turned that off and this still makes it turn on, its annoying as hell...again im going to pepboys for some dielectric grease in a few minutes, hopefully at least 1 code goes away (cam sensor)
Okay i figured out my issue.
First there was mulitple issues all at once. I fixed a wire i found lose. Yet what was causing the codes to be thrown was a negative on the starter.. the wire gounding the starter was dirty. I took that off sprayed some dust off in there. The sanded the terminal to make a better connection.
I know it worked as i drove from Virginia Beach and am now in New Jersey right accross the lincoln tunnel.
I was sketchy about turning the car off at first i felt if i did i would have never been able to start it again.

update, i put dielectric connecting grease (pepboys for $0.99 for a little packet) on the connections for the crankshaft position sensor which is located sorta off to the left and underneath the "surge tank" section of the intake manifold (not the runner section) it is actually held very securely in place so you can unplug it very easily right in your driveway, anyway i put a ample amount of the grease on those connections and cleared the codes, i then proceeded to do some WOT runs, since thats when mine would throw those codes and guess what.....NO CODES NO CEL ITS AWESOME....i will monitor this for a week then edit my first post with this solution if my CEL doesnt come back on
