04 Ralliart NO throttle response

I have a 04 Ralliart with 55,000 miles on it. I am having a problem with NO throttle response. None what so ever. I changed the throttle pontintiometer that is located on the passenger fender and still nothing. Has anyone seen this problem or can steer me in the right direction.

ensure when the pedal is pressed, and the cable moves the APPS. disconnect the battery, then unplug and inspect the throttle harness from the APPS, as well as the TPS/throttle motor...inspect for damage or corrosion.

does it start and idle normally?

when you turn the key to the on position, but not to ignition, do you hear a ticking noise?

Ok. The cable does move the APPS. Connection at the APPS is corrosion free and no damage. I have also installed a new APPS and still no change. As far as the starting it does start but starts alittle rough for about 1 sec then idles at alittle under 1k, if you let it sit there and idle the rpms creep up slightly over time to about 1200. No ticking when key is turned on.

I went out and checked again and there is a click when you turn the key on. about 10 clicks initially then I turned the key off then back on and it was 2 clicks.

sounds like the throttle control motor is dead...disconnect the intake hose from the throttle body, turn the key to the ON position (don't start the motor). have someone press and release the accelerator pedal...the throttle should open and close accordingly.

At first it didn't. the electronic sensor on the front of the throttle body clicks several times when you turn the key on. then has a hummm or buzz to it. I gave it a few light taps with a screwdriver and now you can start the engine and rev it but will not idle smoothly like it was. it bounces between 300-1000. I think that sensor is bad. Is that the throttle position sensor and can you buy that separate or do you have to buy the whole throttle body assy?

I was afraid of that..... Got alittle more Troubleshooting in tonight. Let me pass this by you if I can..... If I turn the key on but not start the car, If I press the pedal in fast the throttle body reacts like it should fully open. if you press and release the pedal it opens and closes like it should... Here is the catch. If you EASE the throttle to the fullt depressed position it will only open about 1/16th of the way and bounce between closed and a 1/16th open. Let go and press pedal fast and again only 1/16th. You turn the key completely off about 15-30 seconds you hear a click from the ECU under the hood. Once you here this click you can turn the key on and have normal throttle response UNTIL you EASE the throttle down again.

The ECU should go into limp mode and give you a code so you know what it is. By the sounds of it you've stripped a gear in the throttle body. They're not that expensive from a scrapyard.

a search on car-part.com lists several units in the Atlanta area...if you give some of the wreckers a call they may even ship it to you.

So.. Im new. I have 2004 ralliart. Today I got my ses light tested. It threw catalyst and running to lean. The guy cleared the codes. The driving later, something clicked, the ses light came back on. I got on it and at 5600 rpms it suddenly like loses power. So then the car lost power allmost completley and then I stopped along the road.it idled very rough at 2000. When Iput the pedal completley down it wouldn't go past 3300 running rough. I shut the car off for maybe a minute, n restarted it. It was normal again, but it suddenly cuts power at 5600rpms about 90% of the time.se My car is stock, other than intake n exuast. Really the trottle cable gos to a sensor, what did Iget myself into? Any help would be appreitiated thanks
