I know the people who are doing all your work will figure it out and get it working. Just please stop bashing hackish not only here but also in club4g.org. Get your stuff together and come back when it works

You again! I have no competition, reason why? I am not making any money off mmcflash or ecuflash/tactrix. Based on the number of people that have used mmcflash with very good results I would have to say it works very well.

Ok go ahead and follow hack and his advise use ecuflash (04-06 Lancer RA and the Eclipse) When the ecu bricks and it will, he should fix it at his cost.

Both systems will have good and bad the consumer will have to look at the pros and cons and decide for them self.

Wanted to make a quick update! My car is running excellently on its current tune! Been busy with other projects but I plan to put something together to show off hopefully by this time next week. Maybe a step by step guide, and a comparison of a few tunes.

In the mean time however if you are interested in doing this but dont want to pay for the near $300 MMCflash dongle then there is a solution has arrived.

The Loan-A-Tool Program

Basically you pay the upfront costs of buying all the equipment since you will be using it and responsible for it, but when your done you either send it back to the owner or to the next person in line. When shipping is verified you will recieve all but the cost of your definition and base tune in return. Click the link for more details it has a more detailed breakdown over there.

I tested another Flash method (not MMCFLASH) yesterday. I have been asked to keep the Company name quiet for now.

The program read and wrote to my ECU car is running no issues. There are still a few things to work out but I used the flash program and it did work! When I get the go ahead I will let everyone know.

Before anyone asks what about MMCFLASH and all the work I and a few others have done. Its simple I am trying to get the most cost effective and reliable tuning method available to this community. I did not make a dime off MMCFLASH and I wont be making anything off this either. There is nothing wrong with MMCFLASH it works perfectly. Just trying to give you all options.

I can louch for this other company as well. brent doeant have imaginary friends lol. They contacted me as well and asked me to keep it hush hush. Unlike brent I havent had as much luck with it yet. Something about the pins in the OBDII connector we think.

what kind of interface are you using...pretty sure you need to apply ground potential to the reflash pin on the ECU.

Update:

Buddy of mine came over yesterday with his 2007 Eclipse GT. We tested the new software read, edit and write. Major success!!!! there are still a few minor things to work out but when its done the cost of a reflash/tune just got a TON cheaper!

Damn! All this sounds interesting. Thanks for the great info and discussion.

Is it too early to give a time frame of when any of these will be ready for the general public? I'd like to give either one a shot. Sometimes I get more power at 70% throttle than I do at WOT with the reflash I have now.

Hard to say what the difference will be between this system and the flash you already have. But for the cost of a definition might be worth the comparison. I know there was a huge difference in my car going from the uvtune flash to the one Merlin did.

Merlin is back end of April from vacation and if the software stays on track should be about 2 weeks. Anyone with a Tactrix cable 2.0 can get started now. Email or PM and I can get you started.

This is the info I need:

I have my fingers crossed! I think I successfully rebuilt my OEM tune last night. Im going to try to flash it onto the car today and I'll let you all know if it works. Then I'll see if I can get some logs and numbers to show off.

UPDATE!!

I was successfully able to rebuild my OEM rom file!

Before we knew that automatics used a different size rom we pulled mine the same way you would a manual. Well surprise surprise. It didnt work because it wasnt a complete file and I was missing transmission controls. So after snooping around a bit I found a way to take that messed up file and combine it with a good file to recreate my rom. Car is currently running on the OEM tune and I am going to start work on data logging, and pulling numbers on it so that I can compare it to a couple of other tunes I have now.

Merlin is back from vacation so let the tuning begin! That is the good news the bad is the fee software is not ready yet, no solid word when it will be. I will offer to rent out my mmcflash unit. To get the ball rolling you can READ ONLY using ECUFLASH. PM me for instructions.

WOW!! The response in one day was very impressive thank you! As mentioned in my last post the free software is not 100% ready, (hopefully soon)

I have been asked if it was possible to "borrow/rent" the flash tool. Quick answer is yes.

When you are fully tuned simply ship the tools to the next person and I will refund your money (except the shipping costs) Always get a tracking number and signature.

Any questions Please let me know XXXclusivemotorsportsXXX@gmail.com I can answer much quicker VIA email.

The more options we all have the stronger it makes this community!

of course, it's engine tuning...if anything, it's easier with a manual transmission because there's no programming associated with the transmission...
