255 fuel pump

Hi there I have been reading the forums for quite some time and never really had an idea for a post... Untill now haha I bought a grams 255lph fuel pump for my 2006 ralliart. The salesman told me it was universal. So I put it in but it's a bit to big for the fuel pump casing (new fuel pump is maybe 1 cm to big therefore not able to fit back into the gas tank. My question is do I have to do a bit of modification to make it fit or does the walboro 255 direct fit? I'm a bit lost here your input/help would be greatly appreciated. I followed the 09 ralliart video to get it in which wasn't a problem but like I said the grams fuel pump is too big. Thanks again

you need a proper sized fuel pump...is there any particular reason you need a 255?

I am upgrading the car for auto x, and it was suggested to me by a friend because of the modifications I'm currently doing to the car.

Do you know a specific fuel pump that will fit?

The walboro 255 fits.

What kind of mods are you doing for AutoX that require a bigger fuel pump? Curious because I race AutoX and have never even considered a fuel pump for it. Now for my turbo build I have a Walboro 255. But I dont see the point on an NA setup.

I gave the store a call and they compared the grams to the walboro and they are the exact same size and the oem is a bit smaller when I pulled it out, id say about 1 cm difference in size. I'm really stumped here. As it stands i have modified short ram intake, magnaflow exhaust, RRM piggyback, OBX header and downpipe. Im in the process of ordering RRM UDP, flywheel, intake manifold, and timing box. Also going to bore out the TB this weekend. When I was with a friend we were talking and I considered a bigger fuel pump. If you have any knowledge of insight on the subject of adding a fuel pump it would be greatly appreciated and why you don't see a point. Coilovers, tires and brakes are needed as well.

i run 12-14psi of boost with the stock pump, and i have no problems with fuel delivery...

i would make sure they are comparing fuel pumps for the correct vehicle...

Thank you, and yes I have a feeling I bought the incorrect fuel pump.

side note, anywhere else I can find parts other than RRM RPW or ebay?

Its N/A, I would like to build the engine with the possibility of boost in the future.

FWD lancers don't have nearly the amount of aftermarket support that Evo's have...chances are pretty good, that these shops will have nothing for us.

It's not so much as what but where. I was just curious to see if anyone knew something more than what is offered, because yes there is not a lot of aftermarket support for the ralliart

Its almost all out there, I don't know anybody who hasn't found what they wanted. Maybe a few replacement urethane suspension bushings are unavailable, thats about it. What do you want?
