raspy exhaust sound

hey there,

today obx headers and downpipe were installed in the lancer today. great mod, we ended up plugging the extra o2 sensor on the header. sounds great except at certain points going through the rpms. it gets really tin can-esque shall we say. Now keep in mind I have obx header downpipe, with the rest stock pipe except a magnaflow muffler. To get rid of the raspiness do I have to invest into the RRM catback exhaust or am I able to just get the Highflow cat and weld it into the stock piping? or into the OBX downpipe? Thanks for your replies I did the research and I think these are my 2 options? again feedback greatly appreciated.

My advice is to go to crappy tire and get a cherry bomb resonator the bigger the better! Took all the rasp away on my car and its only like 50$

Ordering high flow cat, the magnaflow muffler was to much just to scrap for a cherry bomb. The car feels like a go cart

I'm not talking about a cherry bomb muffler I'm talking about a resonator. You put it after the cat. Like this

What size did you get? I ended up getting the 2.25" and did you keep the stock resonator or do you just have the cherry bomb on?

Headers are great I love them but I'm still having issues with a bit of rasp. I went to cdn tire and now I have the cherry bomb resonator which had helped a bit but there still is a bit of rasp for the first 10 mins then it dies down abit to a tolerable level. It is only heard 2200 - 3000 rpm. But for the first little while of driving I have to stay under 2k when I'm shifting then I guess the system is warmed up. I'm thinking I need a new muffler? My current setup is obx headers, oem exhaust pipe, cherry bomb resonator glass pack from cdn tire, and a 5 year old magnaflow muffler which worked great by itself with intake and piggyback sounded amazing, then the header was installed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe a high flow cat? I have obx header/downpipe with a magnaflow high flow cat+ the rrm catback and its not raspy at all, sounds so great so
maybe look for a high flow cat
