Ralliart 6 Speed Tranny
I was wondering if the evolutions 6 speed tranny will bolt into our cars like the five speed does. If so I am considering this swap for lower hwy rpm's and better gas mileage. So here is to us ralliart guys wanting economy and power!

Tranny specs......
1st: 2.909 37mph
2nd: 1.944 56 mph
3rd: 1.434 76 mph
4th: 1.1 99 mph
5th: 0.868 125 mph
6th: 0.693 157 mph
Final Drive: 4.583
Evo 6 speed Top speed per gear
1st: 3.6 33 mph
2nd: 1.944 62 mph
3rd: 1.434 85 mph
4th: 1.1 111 mph
5th: 0.868 140 mph
Final drive ratio: 4.1

I don't want to go all wheel drive with it. My buddy wrecked his evo and is parting it out extremely cheep. If you were to assume the final drive ratio remaining the same the new top would be 176 mph, but that is wishful thinking. Over the five speed evo transmission the difference is only 200 - 300 rpm, but I am betting this against the stock RA tranny. I take lots of long drives, and honestly the 3000 rpm hum @ 70 mph can get quite distraction and loud. The ultimate goal is to lower the cabin noise, increase performance a little, and to have something completely different than everyone else's. I want it to be more comfortable to drive in the long run.

Is it possible? because if I can keep the RA final Drive it will significantly lower the rpm @70 mph that would put it in the 2500 range, that is what I am looking for. Flowmaster on the RA hums really loud @ the start of the 3000rpm range. The car rarely breaks 70 Im a 60 - 65 kind of driver. I'm just trying to figure it out either way it is worth the extra gear in my eyes because of the long RA powerband. I just want to know if the swap is possible and what I might need to get it installed and working correctly with the 4g69 power plant...
We are going to find out for sure about the final drive when I get the tranny pulled....
Evo Tranny with Ralliart Final Drive
1st: 42 mph
2nd: 62 mph
3rd: 85 mph
4th: 111mph
5th: 140 mph
6th: 176 mph
This makes me wonder if this is the setup that mitsubishi used for the 06 fq400 to make its top speed 176 mph? Could that be the missing link? the tranny is different between the MR and the FQ400. These number are calculated at a 7000 rpm rev limit.
