Lend some clutch help? :D
PEOPLE OF PLANET EARTH, LEND ME YOUR ENERGY!
hey guys, im gonn be splitting my engine from my tranny soon to look at my ACT HD clutch, i think the ACT TOB is gone but im gonna get a whole OEM kit including the pressure plate, friction plate and release bearing, I just have a few quick questions that I'm hoping you guys can answer but first, i'll let you know what's happening. when in idle, my 2005 ralliart makes a higher pitched almost screeching noise and when i press the clutch it become a deeper whirring/grinding sound. when the clutch is engaged and in gear the only noise is the higher pitched screeching, also a little difficult to get in gear and sometimes grinds, do you guys think it is the TOB or is there a more sinister underlying problem, i also swapped my whole tranny when i got my car around 40000 kms ago and right after my swap everything was gravy asides from my clutch master cylinder dying on me. What else should I replace while I'm under there? on mitsubishiparts dot net, there are two TOBs, which is better NSK or NTN? is replacing the clutch fork a thing? would it be inappropriate to replace only my TOB with the OEM one seeing as i installed my clutch only about 30000 kms ago?
SHORT FORM:
-'05 ralliart making non belt screech while idling
- lower tone whirring when pressed
- only screeching when in gear
- occasionally grinds and needs to be double clutched
- clutch hydraulics are fine (OEM EVO 8 CMC, new slave cylinder)
QUESTIONS:
-is it my TOB?
-will OEM TOB be solution?
-is it wise/necessary to also buy clutch kit?
-any thing else to replace or look at while under there?
-mitsubishiparts dot net has NSK and NTN bearings, which is better?
thanks a lot for any input guys, I'm knee deep in the car life now and im in need of some guidance
cheers!

my concern is with the screeching while idling...when you're not pressing the clutch pedal, your TOB should be doing absolutely nothing...
if clutch only has 30,000km it should be ok...you can't really get any definitive answers till you pull the tranny.

alright, thanks again cranswick, im just gonna order my kit and a fork just because im in there already, but i really need to know whether to get the NSK or NTN release bearing. any of you guys done a fork before? did you encounter problems like it being seized or anything?
