Misfire on 2: Code P0302. NEED HELP Narrowing Down Solutions!
Hey guys! Hoping you might be able to help me narrow down a list of possible issues/solutions for my P0302 code. According to OBD-Codes, the list of possible issues is as follows:
Faulty coil pack
Faulty oxygen sensor
Faulty fuel injector
Burned exhaust valve
Faulty catalytic converter
Running out of fuel
Poor compression
Defective computer
Now, this issue arose from me overheating the car about a month or two ago, it's been out of commission on and off for a while! Here's the history (sorry for the long post!) https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...y-trouble.html Given that pretense, what could or not be an issue pertinent to my situation?
Concerning the leak of oil into the spark plug tubes and possibly cylinders, I've already cleaned out all the oil, and replaced the valve cover gasket and spark plug tube seals, and I've also installed new spark plugs, these have not succeeded in fixing the car's issue.
The issue has escalated to a point where the car will not turn on; it will attempt to, and come pretty darn close (turning over?) but, alas the engine will no longer completely start anymore as of a couple of days ago. Before that, it started taking progressively longer for the car to start, the longest being almost a good 6 seconds of keeping the key turned to start the engine, LOTS of struggle.
ANY HELP would be much appreciated!

Check to see if your coilpacks are good. I think you like take out the pack and see if you can get the resistance checked. I'm not sure offhand what the normal should be. Autozone or something should be able to test it for you I would think.
I had this code on another car I used to workon quite a bit with the same problem of oil in the spark tubes. Replaced the gasket and spark plugs with no fix and the car still ran like butthole. Replaced the pack and all was good.
In the event that you do need to replace your coilpacks, hit up your local junkyard first and see if they have any laying around for the 4g69. It'll be much cheaper trust me.

Wow, thanks! Really hoping that is the issue honestly. Yeah, I'll be looking around. I'll see if I can test them as well!
Can you believe a single coil pack at Advance Auto is 160$?! I can get a full set on ebay for that much, possibly less. My only gripe with that is, what brand should I get? Do you have any recommendations, and/or know what brand is OEM for our car? Thanks man!
