unfortunately, accolade doesn't make it clear, but you need to actually remove the bumper reinforcement to get the damn kit to fit. Then it should be fine. As far as safety goes, you're gonna have to be extra careful from now on.

Actually, accolade flat out lies on their website- stating that the evo8 bumpers are completely OEM fit. And i bet anything if you call them or email them, they'll give you some non sense about the kit being OEM spec for JDM vehicles. Whatever. I'm glad they make parts for our car, but their stock is dropping in my book. I'm not trying to turn this into a flame thread either, this is just my opinion. I've heard countless issues dealing with their hoods not clearing correctly, bumpers, and side skirts not fitting corrrectly. etc. etc.- damn- can they just make something so that we don't have to remove anything to get them to fit?!?!

You make very valid points. Even if they were to say anything to the effect of "OEM for the JDM market" then you should ask who they're primary market is....b/c I gaurantee you its not japan. Its the States and Euroupe.
And just in case they had a different interpretation of what "OEM FIT" means....I'll clarify this (if anyone wants to add to this go right ahead). OEM FIT in my book simply means plug and play....not modifications required...just paint it and thats it.

Don't worry you guys...Kaminari, Cwest, and Ings+1 should be working on kits.

Im down with that!

I was gonna see if accolade would put my car on their site, and all that Crap but Im so mad with them right now,and I jsut saw the thread for the new Carbon Fiber hood. That really pissed me off..cause I would have just bought that instead..Does Accolade want ppl to die when they get in an accident?
When someone else comes out with the evo 8 kit im gonna burn mine in a traditional ceramoney while celebrating the gain of a real kit.

importstylz07: Hey man, if you want, I can help you put the kit on. My friends and I will work for beer. hehe.

I've never actually put a kit on, but I've done lots of other car work and I have the tools and equipment available. I don't think it would be that hard to take the reinforcement bar out. I think we could do a quality job in like 3-5 hours.

Let me know if you want some help. I'm also a member of the AZLC, so you can PM me there or on this forum, my screen name is the same on both forums.

i dont know much about this but it sounds like the shop doesnt want to be accountable if anything goes wrong so that might mean that theyre not sure of waht to do with the kit.... if you go to a good custom shop there are ways off getting around this to make it fit... id say check out another custom body shop and talk to the people and see what u can do b/c these people arent helping out much and get on accolade's *** bout this... u cant contact them thru phone?? thats b/s if so

When i had my CIVIC i got a body kit and it was required to remove the front reinforcement, and yes they mentioned to me that THEY werent allowed to take it off, so what they did was let ME take it off at MY house so they wouldnt be held responsible for anything. And after I took it off I brought it back up to them and they installed everything just fine. It really isnt all THAT hard to take off, just takes a little time if youve never done something like that before.
