how many horns do we have????

it sounds weird and all but how many do we have in our cars??

the reason why is i HAD a GTI( stupid tranny problems) which had two horns, one for the car to honk with and one when you locked your car. What i did is hook up a after market sire to the lock horn and make it sound like an alarm. and for the shock sensor i found the wire that sets off the factory alarm and solder in the shock sensor. It work really well.

new to the forum, thanks for info

Yes, it's two. One on each side below the hood release area.

thanks for the info, now i have to find which one does what and replace the locking horn with the siren. I hate the horn and plus it make it look like a car alarm.

Now do we have a factory alarm or no? i have been too busy to check and i just bought my car this week.

2 horns in front of the rad. BTW you can turn off the beeping horn when you lock the doors. Look in your manual. I have it set to not beep after one press of the lock, but if I press the lock again it beeps. A lot of cars are set up this way.

yeah the beep is an knowledgement knowing the car is lock and doors are closed correctly. i want that but hate the horn, so i'll just replace that one horn with a siren.( did that to my 02 GTI becuase it had that big key, really neat trick or making your factory alarm go farther.)
