Ralliart vs WRX (advice)
They are the same price for two reasons:
1) The Lancer has about $2500CAN of modifications done to it. No money down.
2) The WRX has no mods, and $3000CAN down.
(and by the way...this site really kicks everyone's ***. Five minutes and already on page 2...yowzers)

What sort of mods are done to the Lancer, do you know?
Mods on Lancer are as follows:
- Evo spoiler
- Eibach lowering springs
- Stage 1 kit (custom short ram air intake, and Magnaflow catback exhaust)
- 25% tint on side and rear windows
- Wheel locks

hahaha...no way...
If Im going to paint this thing its gonna be pearlescent rally blue with silver undertone (for a bit of a twist). And I have a friend who is a pro. He can do it for cost at his shop.
Mods that are being planned as we speak:
- GReddy "Evolution" Catback Exhaust
- AEM Cold Air Intake with that nice water bypass system
- Some sort of lowering springs
- New 17" rims (Most likely ALT Wheels, model: 260 Echo)
This should be fun. My first WRX.

Funny how you posted this question in the Ralliart section and only one RA guy responds. I'm figuring you were looking for some advice from RA guys. Of course the EVO guys are gonna $hit on the RA, they are driving the top of the line. And an OZ guy is gonna do the same cuz he still has animosity cuz he paid extra for his car and didn't gain anything except a different tag on the trunk.
In my opinion I'd go with the WRX. Those payments are too high for an RA that is a year old. My payments are less and I bought mine a year ago. Plus it's usually nicer to get a stock car that you can mod in your own tastes. So even though you seem to really like the RA a lot more than the WRX these things along with the fact that the WRX is already a lot more powerful stock is enough reason to go with the WRX.
Good luck. Posts some pics of the paint job when you're done.

agreed. for what you need it for, the WRX is a better bet. maybe if the RA guy will knock the price down significantly, but otherwise, u may as well get a brand new RA for that price =) The WRX is a good car. sure, that one you posted the pic of is *** ugly, but its still a good car. AWD in ur case is a nice savior, too.

Let me get this straight. We come on here and give our opinions, and you bag on us for various reasons... and then effing agree with us? What the Hell?
I don't have any regret about not buying an RA BEACUSE IT WASN'T A FECKING OPTION WHEN I BOUGHT MY '02 IN '02
And for the record, the OZs rims (15# / 15") and suspension setup (i.e. doesn't need modification to use the Tein SS dampers) were reason enough to buy the car. That it has a lip I can attach my splitter to and have 3" of ground clearance is another bonus... and I don't have to look at crappy plastic woodgrain.

Get the WRX.....I know it looks like you are going to get the WRX, but I just wanted to chime in. I hear you on the red, not my favorite color either. My Evo is red, and I wanted the silver one. But, I got my Evo 2 years ago when they were slapping 5 to 10K premiums on them. I lucked out and found a red one with a few extra miles on it, and the dealer wanted to sell it bad. They sold the car for under sticker. It saved me a lot of money, and after a few months I got used to the red.
Good luck with the WRX, they are great cars.
