They split the pipe near the back of the car. Adds weight, creates turbulance, but to hell with function, it's all about form!

Kaput16, since you mentioned a price comparison I assume that it's a significant factor for you. However, when you compare prices do not compare sticker: compare the prices that you would actually have to pay. For example, when I was looking for a car, both the Mazda 3 and Ralliart sticker prices were almost identical for comparable equipment levels. However, I couldn't negotiate much off the Mazda price (about $500, short supply), whereas I got about $2500 off the Ralliart MSRP. There are sites on the internet where you can find out what a particular car is selling for in your area, so it's easy to do a quick "real world" price comparison. You can even factor in options, etc. I am having trouble remembering which sites I used for this but I think it was www.edmunds.com.

first off your roots dont come from the Evo, the evo comes from the lancer, hints lancer evolution. the tC is toyota and toyota is one of the most reliable companies. and a car doesnt have to have roots. a new model has to start sometime. the quality of lancers isnt too great either. It's a 16K car it's not going to be bmw quality. when looking for a car, the last thing i'd be basing my choice on is the car's roots. this might have or not been mentioned above but i'd definately compare warranties too (unless you plan to void it all). Also mitsubishi has been known to build poor transmissions. Just some things to look into.
As for my choice between the two, i'd do the tC, it's more sporty and smoother lines and has a lot of aftermarket products you can pick up through the dealer that wont void the warranty. I'm not all about the sedans. good luck on your choice.

My sister owns a tC, good power, nice interior, only thing bad to me is the mp3 player cover because it doesn't open properly, but even that isnt that bad because you don't use it that much and when you do wanna slide the cover down it looks cool.

Definitely looks better than a ralliart (sorry guys, I wanted a ralliart before just to let you know, and I almost got it just to also let you know)

Prefer 2 door or 4 door. People mostly lean to 4 doors when you have family or friends that dont drive, and 2 doors also when friends (just tell the passengers to go around to the other side of the door to get in because your not getting out)

fun to drive

ITS A TOYOTA, YES!!! Reliability AT LASTTT, and guess what a TOYOTA WITH LOOKS! nice 2 sunroofs, 1 in front 1 in back

Nice seats, meshy, wont get hot like leather, won't get ugly like cloth

HOPE THIS HELPED, pm me with any other questions, I can always use my sister's car to check anything, test anything

if for brand new car, I would go for TC,
if for used car, go Ralliart because Mitsubishi drop value real quick on the 2nd hand market

I vote for the ralliart. I think the TC looks alot like the tiburon. I drove a ralliart loved it.

We did do a poll on a previous thread, the RA was choosen. Call it biased, call it the truth. But, about 75% of people who bought there RA looked @ the tC (as I did) and I looked @ overall buy. Ive sat in the tC (have not driven it) and it's made cheap, IMO the RA isnt made cheap. Ive made a previous post how the center console is shiny (cheap) plastic and the sales guy yelled @ me for trying to open the "hideaway radio deck". I nearly broke it because w/ a slight "push in", it wouldnt open... i tried numerous times, so i try pushing it in w/ my fist... still didnt open. The seats are uncomfortable and not supportive as our evo seats. The shifter is too long, i prefer our evo short shifter, interior is small (i know its a coupe, but I want 4door for friends, not 2 for me and my g/f). The RA transmission is the best on the market (same as the evo), if you wanna talk about poor transmission find a subaru board! No tC or any other car in the same price or category comes close to a better shifter/transmission, BET THAT. In a street race or track... stock vs. stock no tC is touching my RA. Every tC that's raced me, has not came close and I never start any of the races im in. Looks are subjective... its based on opinion, which in my case, mine matters not yours. I don't need a slew of aftermarket products to win my descion, same as the honda, so it has a billion products, about 95% are BS products. I don't need 10 companies making turbos for my car, when they all are making the same HP/TRQ across the band. Comes w/ a supercharger... that's great, it's a mod that takes power to make power, while I can make 200 N/A hp easily w/ RRM products.

The RA is a fun ride, it wants to be pushed, it wants to be revved, it likes to chirp tires, the stock exhaust note sounds like theres an AM exhaust on it. It takes turn and comes out hauling ***, you can throw the RA around corners and bends and come out w/ that front facisa girll on your face. The tC well, looks to scared to do it. The tC is that fine girl @ school that nobody can get with, while the RA is that bully who beats everybody and takes there lunch money. The tC is a girls car

So again, overall... tell me why the tC is a better choice?

edit: copy and paste that URL into a new window.

I still would take a Ralliart over the tC.

Stock tc's are heavy and bulky handling. Plus they cost more. Youll spend alot more trying to get the handling the Ra has stock. Ive test driven the tc acouple of times and it felt 2 times heavier than the ralliart. It was the tc or the ralliart for me and I think I went with a great decision.
Also, to me, modding your car means that you choose the parts..I wouldnt want something that everyone else has bought from the dealership too.

well i honestly could careless what car is better. I gave some advice on things to consider when shopping between the two cars. I just joined the forum and wasnt around for the original poll. If more people liked the RA that's great it doesnt effect me. The evo and ra do not have the best transmissions on the market. I have a friend with an evo and it's no stop complaints with it. The STI's trans is bulletproof and if you dont believe that you can go to the forum and see for yourself. The RA is a economy family sedan i dont know where you're getting the idea it's this almighty track car. you dont have to do a supercharger on a tc to get 200hp. you can do it with N/A parts too just like the RA. As for looks and getting yelled at that's your own opinion. Why you decide to randomly snap at my post is beyond me because most of this has absolutely nothing to do with my original post since mine was simply stating things to consider to get a better deal. never in my post did i say "buy all these parts they sell at the dealer." i dont care what you put on the car, it was just another option so warranty doesnt get screwed over but if you read my thread i also said unless you're planning on voiding it anyways then that wouldnt matter I dont know why you're talking about evo seats or short shifters because you have an RA not an evo. I've sat in a tC it's roomy and as for the short shifter you're comparing an evo short shifter to a tC stock shifter which makes no sense. I dont know why you're fisting the cover, of course it's not going to be heavy duty, it's for looks. Everyone who knows about the supercharger knows it's not a good deal, it's just covered in the warranty. and the looks are clearly my own opinion. This is also an open forum so i am entitled to my own opinion whether you like it or not. I dont know why you're talking about evo seats or short shifters because you have an RA not an evo.

ok all first off MY car is better then yours and my cell phone company is better then yours isnt what the man asked for! sorry for going a little but it had to be said. ok here it is up front, go test drive them both heck do it like 10 times heck even take one to the others dealership and drive them both one right after the other. wach out for the 2 sales guys fighting though lol anyways look at the options ect and the Gas milage and such. i love my RA and i test drove plenty of cars before buying it. alls i can say is just go with what you are comfortable with. one thing though MODDING your car. i looked at the scion line and well not to impressed with the "factory" mods. price jumped to quick for me with all the mods i wanted on it. warrenty also was a biggy and if your worring about a warrenty well heres a little news for all ya. IF you blow yoru cars engine up and the machanic takes it apart, they can tell if you been abusing yor car and will not warranty it. yes thats TOYOTA and MITSUBISHI both so if yoru warried about moding your car and warranty well safe bet is NO MODS at all. like i said i did my home work on the cars i was looking at before i decided to make my purchase
