i had a proform shift light and i had it set @ 6400 rpm. i shift whenever it lights up, but i dont think i was shifting @ 6400 rpm, so i just watch the rpm gauge. i dont think that the shift light is accurate. i just installed it today too and it took me less than 30 minutes. also, i was power shifting keeping the gas pedal floored and shifting. do you guys think that i would have run better if i release the gas when i shift?

I do have my timeslip on this site still. It's under DRAG RACING.
I never sold my vehicle. It was stolen, I got the car back totaled- and I never robbed a bunch of people. I ended up not being able to ship out anything due to problems with my insurance company and the money was all paid back from paypal. Therefore, I never kept anyones money. That's the 100% real story.

But I do miss my RA and I'm driving a 96 Explorer XLT with all options but I really do wish I had my RA and I'm thinking about buying a used one in a year or two for around 10-12 grand. I will be back. I love the RA.

I notice I don't see any of you getting under 2.0 in your 60 foot. My best time slips were always in the 1.8s and 1.9s in the 60. The launch is key for our cars since we're not high in HP. Without a launch, RAs aren't much. You have to bust the launch perfectly. Whenever I raced people on the streets, or at the track if I was able to beat them it was ALWAYS because of my launch.

ooo, look what I found https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=76052 The sad thing about that time is I would have gotten a 14.9 had I not braked at the very end of the run. As you can see, my dial in was a 15.2 and when I saw the guy so far behind me I realized I was going to brake out and I wanted to win my bracket so I braked at the end and I still broke out of the 15.2

I dont know, the RA was on fire that night. My worst time of that night was a 15.3

I dont know- my best time though was over 2.0 2.2 I believe. It's hard to say exactly what to do because it just takes practice. I can't tell you when my foot let off the gas or how high I lifted off the clutch just like it's hard for MJ to say exactly how to release the ball. He just does it. I just did it. Just keep your tires from spinning too much is all I can say for sure. You do want a little tire spin however. I noticed if I spun to much the times would suck and if I didn't spin and had instant traction my times would suck too. You want spin but you want to gain traction after about 6-10 feet. You want to spin them but have traction at the same time if that makes any sense? I wish I had videos of my runs.

u remember what RPM u typically lauched at? I usually launched at 2400, but my new exhaust really threw me off last night. i think i need to start launching higher and giving it more gas faster (all good things!). You ran 18psi, right? i seem to have less luck below 22ps.

only had 4 runs last night, 2 were trashed from missing 2nd. only time that EVER happend and it happend 2x in a row =( Other 2 runs happened after the track went to **** from spills, wrecks and moisture laying on the track. The exhaust made my RPMs drop faster when letting the clutch out. need to re-remember my modulation =(

here is a good vid of my best launch of the night: http://www.vaxpower.org/%7Ejason/ral...ust-launch.avi

I was launching at 3K on each launch. My 60ft times were 2.211, 2.245, 2.176 on each run. I think it also helps that im running on Yokohama Parada Spec-2 tires cause my wheelspin was very minimal.

OK.. Your gonna hear alot of What COULD be worng.. Tores is one thing but RT is ALOT.. 1.16 is NOT a good RT.. I am Running a .106 RT and I STILL am not happy.. AND I STILL am not running a High 14 like I should be.Its Tires is MAin concern,Lower the pressure to 22 Psi in the from and infalte the back to 44,So how it goes from there. Also When you get up to the line.. MAke the other guy wait.. Gently ease off the clutch and DONT touch the gas you will rol forward,When you see the Staged lights Flicvker on... STOP.Leave on the thrid Yellow.. IF done EXACLTY as I said.. you will NOT redlight and your RTs will be hella better and your 60's will be better. Also,if you can,Change the tires ASAP and get a CLutchline if not already done. Our STOCK Clutch line has a valve in it that restricts the Clutch from engaging quickly.Road race sells one for about 60 bux.

ALSO.. Shift at ABOUT 5600-6000.. THis way you stay in the power band.At 6500 There is NO power left and it basically drops off.. If you get out of the power band the car has to do more work and may take a few tenths of a second to do so.. Just a few pointers.Let me know how it works out for ya.

Oh yeah.. And DONT FLOOR IT FAST! I had this problem from driving AWD for so long..lol.Believe me if you floor it fast, you will sit and spin for a bit.If need be.. a good hint on that would be Push the gas and say Hippopottumus.. Your Foot SHOULD be at the Floor at the end of that word.DONT SAY IT FAST.. lol.Say it Normal..Good luck
