My cel just went off at 542 miles after the downpipe install thats w/ the 02 sensor fix. i can deal, not a huge problem except now i wont be able to tell between the cel for the exhaust or for other engine problems. suggestions? how would you reset the ecu and what are the consequences? or should i just deal with it? any input would be appreciated

i think to reset the ecu u need to disconnect the battery terminals and tap the brakes to drain the power... once out..... give it about 10 minutes... then put the terminals back on and start it up and try driving for a few minutes. Should have reset... i think
Huh.
To reset the ECU, disconnect your battery for about 10 minutes. Reconnect everything, let your car idle for 5 or so minutes, then give it some time to relearn. Finally, reset all your stereo settings.

Id take it to autozone, they will pull the code for free, so you know exactly what it is. And to take the light off you only have to take the negative battery terminal off for like 10 secs., 10 min is not necassary, that way light goes out, and usually you dont lose your stations. Let the car idle for a little bit afterwards, and dont drive it hard for a couple miles to make sure the ecu adjusts correctly.
