problem with AT

i have an AT... when i change gears to Reverse.. as soon as i plant it to R... theres like a funny sounding squeek... sounding like a smooth grind or something.... any body know anything? it literally squeeks though its the actualy sound. =\ help?
could it be transmission fluid?

if the sound is coming from the rear of your car then it is the brakes. A lot of people (including me) have this problem. For some reason it sounds like the rear brakes are squealing. It happens only in reverse and only after I havent drove my car in a while and only last for a few seconds. Dealers cant/wont fix it.

Yeah, this has been discussed, it's the moisture built up on the rotors after sitting for a few hours...
Nothing really, no damage can come from this... but if it sounds like steel grinding then that might be the tranny...

Is it only when you start up after not driving for a while?!

He's talking about a transmission problem, I had squeaks on my manual transmission and had to grease the shifter bushings. Whether this is the same for auto I doubt it. But you might want to look.

yeah, im not talking about reversing.. im talking about... while the break is down... and then changing to R it makes a squeeking noise as i gues it's changing gears... but i dont think its sposed to make that loud of a noise audible enough to hear... you know?

Maybe you should stop doing 60in reverse and slamming it into drive to try and do a burnout lol
