Oil Pressure Gauge

Hey guys I got an Autometer Oil Pressure Guage I want to install. I'm still trying to find out the sizing for the "T" needed, but I was wondering if any of you guys could steer me in the right direction with this. I was told this (see pics below) was the best place to attach the sending unit to. Is this right? Seems the easiest way as this is insanely easy to get to. Also if anyone knows the sizing of the "T" that would be wicked, cause I can't seem to find any soild info on it.

if you tee anything off the main block.. you will regret it later on when it vibrates to death and start to squirt oil out..

^^ Hrmmmmm.... oil squirting is not a good thing. Is there a better suggestion then? What about if it was teed from there, but the tee went to a SS line and then the sender was mounted to the firewall? Thats the other suggestion that was given to me.

I don't think that's the right place for an oil pressure gauge sender anyway. That's an oil pressure switch, true, but that's just so the ECU knows there's enough pressure to switch to the upper MIVEC range. I don't believe it has anything to do with the idiot light on the dash.

For an aftermarket OP gauge, I'd think your best bet would be to find a spot closer to the pump/filter to mount the sender.

i've installed a psi gauge on my Ralliart, and you need to get the feed line on the back of the block, simply remove the stock pressure sensor for the dummy light in the dash, and replace it with the fitting that came in the kit. and that's it.

but then you lose the "idiot light" on the dash..

get a SS line and move it up to the firewall, then tee off that.. that's the best way to do it

or get a greddy block like i did and put it where the oil filter is

one side of the SS line attaches to the sender, where does the second side attach too? That's the issue. Does it attach to where I was explaining earlier. To the block, in the photos?

what you need is the oil block adapter from greddy.

it has 2 ports where you can put an oil pressure gauge and a oil temp gauge if you want.

it is sandwiched where the oil filter is.

i am using it and am having no problems.

you won't regret it.

I too have the greddy block adaptor and it's working great. Worth the investment, rather than tapping something yourself. It makes any oil gauge install very easy. I'm using it for a temp guage.

What does your temp gauge read at highway speeds? I am reading about 240, but I have a feeling on longer trips I can expect to peg the gauge. I am thinking of investing in an oil cooler and 180 thermostat. Mitsu says the normal range of operation is 210 to 230 for the oil, which I feel is high as it is.

I'm not running a pressure gauge. I know that we have issues with the gearing in our cars with the temp getting high, so I bought the temp gauge and held out for the cooler to see how it looks first with the temp guage.
