are tsi's faster than 88 supras? the awd turbo ones?

Yes they are. A 1G stock TSI usually runs a high 14 in the 1/4.

Also the buyer remorese is called the Lemon Law!

Buddy of mine ran a 16.4, and 16.3, and that was at its absolute best! You will have nothing to worry about....just practice your launch at around 3.5-4.5k depneding on the tires you have...those supras are heavy!
