RPMS match your Speed, you can shift without a clutch. By that i mean they must be at the same angel

Power shifting is shifting without letting you foot off the accelerator; you still use the clutch. As for whether or not its bad for the car, i'll equate it to the same amount of wear caused by a mild/agressive launch. You do smell a little clutch afterwards but not more than you should expect unless you are really bad at it. Awesome benefits of powershifting, you hold boost between shifts, usually about 10-14psi.

wtf now I gotta try to figure out which one of you is right...

so it's either

1. shifting using the clutch, but not letting off on the gas

or

2. shifting without using the clutch at all

+1

When powershifting your still using the clutch. Your foot never leaves the accelerator. Practice it at lower rpms until you get good enough to be able to pull it off at redline.

Do not shift with out the clutch... no matter how good you think you are at it. You will burn out synchrose even if you NEVER heard a gear grind. It may sound like a safe way to save the clutch, but you kill your tranny in a real hurry.

This is not power shifting...this is no lift shifting, and there is a difference. The clutch is not involved in a power shift.

It's still unclear which one actually is powershifting - everyone keep saying differently. Somebody show me a dictionary entry or something.

POWER SHIFTING:
What is it? Is it NOT using the clutch to shift? Isn't that bad
for the gears? I know when I don't use the clutch (almost always by
accident), I don't call it power-shifting, I call it grinding your
gears. If you listen really carefully, I think you can actually
sometimes hear the gears grinding (of course, I do have very sensitive
ears). It was my understanding that this is bad (read: costly). Also,
is this done to improve acceleration time since you don't waste precious
milliseconds pressing and depressing the clutch?

no clutch for a power shift. no lift shift is without lifting on the accelerator and quickly shifting with the clutch. gears do not grind during a power shift if done at the proper rpm.
