Question HELP!! I ****ed up big time!!!!!!

you guys im a dumba$$... i need help!

ok, i wanted to re-do my headlights b/c they were too dark and I wanted to make them lighter. Well, turns out, this niteshade tinting spray sh-t wouldnt come off. Now my headlight is cracked, "spidered", and ruined. I tried using goof off, paint thinner, but not anything w/ acetone.... my headlight is ruined... i dont think I can use anything to get it off... or is there?

does anyone know what would remove this off the headlight?

should i just purchase new ones from the dealer?

should I check e-bay?

anyone have a set to sell?

or should I check a junk yard?

HELP

You should have known....

Well if the lense is the only part is ruined, I think you can just buy that piece instead. If not you might to look around like in eBay or here in EvoM.

Those will not fit. They are for 00-04 Eclipse.

I would think the only place to find new ones would be the dealer or from a crashed RA. Be prepared for a hefty price.

for the time being you could prolly use a very light grit sandpaper along w/ water and slowly wetsand that paint off. hopefully your light wont get damaged but it may be too late... i was gonna say nail polish remover but i think that has acetone (Sp?)

This would be your best bet. 1500+ grit and wetsand the sh*t off...I mean, the light's already messed anyways, right?

Do what Azure said and wet sand it, then go with even finer grits, 2000, 4000. You ever seen that Flitz stuff on tv? It's a polish that works on plastic. Try any kind of plastic polish with a buffer and it should be ok. you might need to start with rougher than 1500 grit though, that doesnt take paint off very well. Maybe 800 to start.

^What he said.

Usually you would have to send him yours and you'd be without your headlights for a bit, but he may have a set on hand and you could do a swap. Either way I'd pm him. He is on the vendor list if you want to contact him.

the last thing i really wanna do is buy a new set of headlights. i cant find them anywhere. ill try some junkyards around where i live if anything...

ill pm evodave and see if he has anextra set... if not, i will try the nail polish remover, if that doesnt work, then ill do the sandpaper.

my lights arent ruined, its just the headlight plastic lens.
