i think he had a secret obsession with the evo, and was saving up to buy it, and driving customers away...

Sorry to hear that bro. I know exactly your feeling, sometime they do profiling.
I also had hard time trying a test drive on my MR, they wouldn't even talk to me seriously until they ran a credit report.

My credit was excellent when they ran it, I was in my military uniform and after finding out my great credit I did not even have to bring proof of income, from that point it was just my word. I ended buying the MR that they I drove and I traded my WRX.

This bring me to a interesting situation, when I was stationed in the UK(RAF Lakenheath) I had a 91 Porsche 911(964) Carrera 4 Cabriolet. I use to go to the Lancaster Porsche dealer just outside of Cambridshare to service my Porsche and I was offered often to drive different cars. I drove a 02 Porsche Carrera 4, and a 02 Porsche Boxter S, like I said man, without even asking for it, not even having a interest on buying them.

I also use to go to the Honda dealer in Bury Saint Edmunds, Suffolk (UK)where I got to be one of the first people in the country to drive the brand new Honda Civic Type -R(Japonese Spec 200hp Civic) and also a brand new hard top Honda S2000 Monaco edition.

Ther common denominator was that I always showed up in my military uniform and driving the Porsche which made them think that I was full of cash when I was actually full of debts and $hit( I was only a freakin E-3 and later a E-4) LOL

Yup, is fuc$k up sometime when you don't get to drive the car that you want to buy, your situation is kind off opposite of mine, you were there to buy a car and you were deny to drive it and I was going to the dealers to kill sometime and for non related issue and still get to drive the hell of the cars...

my .2c

The thing is, they had run my credit, and I'd even tried that car before, just not for more than a "run around the mall" because I was trying to be polite the first time (because it was on a whim) and the second time the guy who rode along was complaining he needed to be back at the dealership before I left the lot.

I test drive alot of cars, and never get that kind of treatment, but these are people that I had spent a couple weeks hammering out a deal with.

Some other dealer is gonna love that.

It's not like I'm pulling onto the lot in a '91 Civic with an aluminum spoiler and lots of primer.

One, cause I'm a tweaker.

Two, cause I'm a tweaker.

I dunno man. I felt like ranting twice as much maybe. Plus, it sorta concerns both the Ralliart community, where I usually post, and the Evo one, where I mostly lurk and reply.

Linked it to the Evo General post.

LOL, look at my avatar, I have a 91 Civic SI but it is indeed the cleanest 91 Honda Civic Hatchback around(no stickers, no loud coffe can mufflers, no stupid *** body kits,no ugly rims) you know what I mean right?, but yeah, I know excatly whet you are trying to say about the people driving Honda Civics thinking they are the $hit!!

It is very amazing, I have a Co-worker that has a Fast and Furious Eclipse, rims, rotors, he even has a triple gauge pod pillar with gauges that don't even work, among them he has a boost gauge, the guy even has a turbo timer.

To make matters worst he even has a 3" exhaust because he says in case he puts a turbo kit he would already have the exhaust, funny uh.

My stock Honda ran faster at the track (SIR, Tucson)that his Fast and Furious 97 Eclipse with full headers, 3"tb CAI and a "chip"(whatever),

You should see his face when I mention that my stock honda with stock steel rims and hubcups, quiet stock exhaust and no mods runs faster than his Eclipse

Try a different dealer or talk to the region Mitsubishi manager

Sorry bro, not dissing the Honda at all!! It was just an example. I guess I should mention the lime green Tercel that runs around with it's huge aluminum wing instead.

I'm just thinking, I pulled onto this lot in a nice car, that i'm taking a BATH on to get this even nicer car, and I get treated quite second class.

But c'mon? Profiling? I make good money, am married and drive nice cars. I'm not looking to joyride. Hell, if I was, I would have driven that car to death on my first test, not taken a quick jaunt around the mall and returned the sales girl to the lot so she wouldn't miss any possible sales.

Hah Southgate Mitsubishi in Michigan doesnt give a crap who test drives what. When i went to look at my ralliart the salesmen threw me the keys to an OZ rally and told me to go do whatever in it. I had just turned 17 at the time. They didnt even check to see if i had a licence. LOL i bet i could go there today and talk them into letting me try a V6 eclipse or an evo
