Just wondering if anyone has found a easier way of removing the air filter for cleaning rather then jacking the car back up and taking off all the splash gaurds again.
I heard it might be easy to remove the headlight?? Anyone try this?

 

Don't know about the headlight, But I tihnk im gona try making a quick release or somthing inside the engine bay so you can pull it out threw there, It's a pain to remove the tire/splash guard and to put everthing back, In the winter im switching it to a sri.

 

I got the AEM CAI and the cone is where my fog light is. What i did is i removed the panelling around the tire to get to my cone. i believe thats the only way. sorry dude

 

Boooo....there has got to be a easier way.

If someone has some free time do they want to look into how difficult it would be to take off the drivers side headlight assembly. I would do it myself...but I work 12 hours a day... :-(

 

if you look up threw the bottom i dont think you can see the headlight... and if you have the giant KNN filter that RRM sent me i doubt that you could get it out through there

 

All I need to remove is one splash guard directly under the intake and im there then again I adjusted my splash guards to allow me to do that. I never jacked my car up either to install or clean the filter.

 

yah its a tight fit getting under the car to that but its not really necessary to jack up the car if ur under 160 lbs

 

I permanently have a section of my splashguard off so that I have easy access to it, plus, it provides a good source of "cold air". Of course I live in SoCal and don't really need to worry about the elements so much!

I believe you only have to oil it once a year?

 

I just remove the bottom driver side splash guard, pull out a couple pins from the "center" splash guard to make it a little easier for moving around(very easy) ..No tire removal..i don't think i used a jack ??. I have the clamp(screw) for the filter towards the front of the car but facing down a little. This seems to work well.. Hope this helps.
