I used to buy BG from AMS but it looks like they don't have it anymore. Buschur has it for $12/qt.

I currently have the Amsoil in my car (I was making a big Amsoil order anyways, so figured I'd give it a shot) and I just don't like it as much as the BG. Car doesn't shift nearly as smoothly.

The Amsoil Tranny Oil I use is very good.

For those of you with 80K plus miles on your fluids, Isn't that too long to keep using the same oil?

You should at least change the oil evry 10K.

I change my Tranny Oil every 5K.

Over servicing

Yeah, I work at a Lube shop and this is kinda such thing like over servicing. 5k seems a bit excessive no actually very very excessive. Yes Mitsubishi says every 30k on the trans fluid but thats kinda like a base for most vehicles. It all depends on Driving Conditions, Style, Atmosphere, Weather etc. Lot's of factors I'd just do routine 2,500-4,000mi oil change and fluid check look at trans fluid make sure its at proper level and still looks good if not change it. Anyway enough with my Lube speak, I'm sure though 5k that fluid is still good.

I prefer to do mine every 40k kms. I tried Royal Purple and didn't like it at all I even took it out way before it needed changing. BG Syncromesh is the best I've found for the RA.

ive had mobil 1 in my trans for about 13k now...and i like how it feels but i didnt really feel a difference from the previous fluid in there...probably the stock stuff (and i bought the car w/ 86k on it...now around 113k...)

ps: ive always been looked at weird when i talked about changing my trans fluid, been told "dont worry itll be ok forever"......but then again ive also always been told "treat it like a differencial"...

my opinon: it does take gear oil and ussually u change diff fluid around 30k so drain and fill around 30k...

bumping an old thread. A lot of you guys have used the GM synchromesh, I read that Pennzoil Synchromesh is pretty much the same thing, have any of you run the pennzoil synchromesh?
