Wow, at least you admit your lazy. It only took me 12 seconds to find it in the manual.

I'm using GM Synchromesh in mine, and have been for 20,000 miles or so. No problems with it at all. A lot of the 'crunchiness' of the 1-2 shift went away.

It's pretty easy to change. Take out the fill plug first, then put a drain pan under the drain plug and remove the drain plug. Let it drain out, replace the drain plug. Slide drain pan up so it's under the fill hole. Insert funnel into fill hole, pour in two quarts, then top off with a third quart until fluid runs out of the fill hole. Replace fill plug. Done.

The fill plug is 17mm, and the drain plug is 22mm, IIRC. Maybe 23mm. It's been a while.

I'm using the BG Synchroshift II in mine, and I love it. Been in my car for about 19,000 miles. Always slides into gear smoothly.

gm synchromesh here also, remember that you should ONLY USE GL4 rated tranny oil. THe GL5 stuff is too slippery and you will eat your synchros. GM syncromesh is great. I'm getting my clutch replaced as we speak and I'm getting a fresh batch of synchromesh put in.

I think it's recommended every 30K miles or so....super easy to do with a manual trans....with a auto, you have to have the exchange machine (t-tech at my shop).

Royal Purple is the only GL-5 I would consider using. I use it with RP 5w-30 in the engine. It is not uncommon for me to get 32 mpg. God bless synthetics.
