Arrow Outlander Questions..?

My understanding is that the Outlander is based on the Lancer, and that the Ralliart is basically a Lancer with the Outlander engine and other additions. But how similar is the Outlander to the Lancer or more specifically the Ralliart?

Not that I'm thinking of doing it, but I'm curious... could you adapt the Outlander's AWD system to fit the Ralliart?

Edit: Doing a comparo at the Mitsu site, here's what I came up with...

outlander Ralliart

ENGINE
Engine Type 2.4L I4 2.4L I4
--------------------
Displacement (cc) 2378 2378
--------------------
Displacement (ci) 145 145
--------------------
Horsepower @ RPM 160@5750 162@5750
--------------------
Torque @ RPM 162@4000 162@4000

DIMENSIONS, WEIGHTS, CAPACITIES
Wheelbase (inches) 103.3 102.4
--------------------
Length (inches) 179.0 180.5
--------------------
Width (inches) 68.9 66.8
--------------------
Height (inches) 6 6.3 53.7
--------------------
Track Width Front (inches) 58.9 57.9
--------------------
Track Width Rear (inches) 59.3 57.9

I have no idea on the technical side how it would work, but the dimensions seem pretty close... seems like it might be pretty easy to make a AWD Ralliart.

Don't they even already have an AWD Lancer in other countries?

Not easily. You can, and at least one shop has, put the Evo's engine in the Outlander using the existing AWD system.

I think the Airtrek Turbo only came in Auto (Tiptronic) even in Japan (I'm not 100% certain though) but I am sure it could converted to manual.

I think you meant throw the AWD system into the ralliart right? Not the Evo engine into the Outlander?

Right.

But hey, dropping a 4G63 into the Ralliart might be amusing too.

It was just raw speculation anyways!

I think this is what ams did. 4G63 into outlander= Evolander. They had it at the DSM shootout this year, but I never got to see it run.
