Same F.... problem

I tried everything I think, I checked the intake no leak change the O2 sensor from the O2 Housing, But I haven’t change the one form the down pipe or close to the catalic converter because I eliminated with a DC down pipe, but I put the chip to avoid the check engine light don’t know if the chip is damage but I will check it this weekend and change the O2 sensor that’s the last thing I’m going to do. Need help do get a new ECU or something to get this fix?

How many miles do you have on it? You may actually need an O2 sensor. When you get the code, which sensor is throwing it? Bank 1? Do you actually notice performance issues, like groggy idle once started?

My car is completely OEM. I have been getting P0171 now and then before it was at 8 000 km. Never had any after market parts. Dealer kept the car for a day and said they tested all sensors and found them to be in within specs. The car drives and idles the same whether the SES light is on or off. When it comes on I check it with a FCR and reset it. I put it down to a side effect of having the engine run by a dumbass computer.

If your car is completely OEM and all the sensors are within spec then I suggest looking at the fuel pressure. If it's low then change the filter, check the lines for any under carrage damage - kinked or crushed line and barring that replace your fuel pump. If the pressure is OK then get your injectors cleaned. This is of course assuming your O2 sensor really is OK. Yes they're managed by a stubborn computer but there is no box of magic installed in the car - you're getting that CEL for a reason.

Yeah the dealer allegedly cleaned the injectors, I dont recall anything about fuel pressure though.

So my code has been coming back 30 miles off and on. Took it to a dealer and they said the exhaust is leaking. Probably a bad gasket. Then when we were repairing that I noticed that my RRM Headers had a hole in them in the weld. It all makes sense now. The month those headers were installed this code started throwing. I called RRM and they want me to have someone fix the hole in the weld locally. I'll keep you up to date.

*Update* It was not an exhaust leak for my car after all. For me it was that 2 of my spark plugs were overtightened and their gaps were closed up. My car runs great now. If I find out more I'll let you know.

Our FPR is built into the fuel pump assembly, and does not have a vacuum line attached to it.

This is the only code keeping me from passing I/M haha

Does having a BOV that is 100% atmospheric rather than recirculated, cause this code to come on?
